Setback for the FCSG U21s: A home defeat against bottom-placed YF Juventus Zurich
In the 17th round of the Promotion League, FC St.Gallen II lost 2-0 to SC YF Juventus in Bergholz in Wil. This concludes the preliminary round and St.Gallen has 15 points
16th place.
Juventus started the game with a lot of self-confidence and got a few corners in the first quarter of an hour, but none of them became dangerous. The St.Gallen team had their best chance in the 30th minute when Leonhard Munst kicked in a spectacular free kick. But Novem Baumann got the ball out of the crossbar. In the 40th minute, the lead was integrated for the guests, but Mohamed Camara did not hit the ball properly when he was free.

After the break, the St.Gallen team tried to convert their playful advantages into goals, but they couldn’t find a way to counter Zurich’s defensively strong defence. Münst had the best chance again with a free kick, which he hit the post.
The second half of the season started next weekend
In the 57th minute, Juventus took the lead after a counterattack by Marc Kramer. He caught Bela Dumrath in the near corner. And things got even better for Zurich residents. Another corner for Juventus in the 61st minute and the St.Gallen defense didn’t get the ball out of the danger zone and so sunk Soheil Arghandewall from close range to make it 2-0. The first game in the second half of the season is scheduled for next weekend.
