alarm forces Ghana to leave hotel
Through a statement on social media, the Ghana national team revealed that the evacuation was due to an alarm that sounded at 2:30 pm local time. After a visit, the team returned to the hotel.
The Ghana national team, Portugal’s first opponent in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, was forced to temporarily evacuate the hotel where it is staying in Doha, Qatar.
Via a statement on social networks, the respective Federation reported that the evacuation was due to an alarm that took place this Sunday, at 2:30 pm local time. After a visit by Qatari firefighters, the hotel was declared safe and the Ghanaian team was able to return to the site.
Portugal and Ghana will face each other on Thursday (16:00) in the first round of the 2022 World Cup. The National Team is included in group H of the tournament, along with its African counterpart, Uruguay and South Korea.
