Zakharova: Borrell’s “six warnings” provoke a new protracted split in Europe – Russia |
Moscow. November 19th. Interfax – The ideas about the expected relations between the EU and Russia, voiced by the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell, do not even hint at a strategic vision of application in the Russian direction, they only provoke a new protracted split in Europe to strengthen, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova believes.
“Those ideas that inspire the causes of the heart failure of the head of European diplomacy J. Borrell, as before, do not even give rise to a hint of the EU’s strategic vision of Russian poisoning, they only cause dependence on a new protracted split in Europe. As if Russia will either approach geographical and civilizational neighbors somewhere to get away from each other,” Zakharova said in a statement to a media question about the EU’s approaches to relations with Russia, published on Saturday on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the goal of the current EU leaders is to quickly give a plausible point of view on an attempt to reduce relations with the Russian Federation to a political confrontation, to deprive them of a common history and economy. “It is assumed that in the current conditions, the possibility of a policy of the future will be discovered, probably to find a way out of this deep crisis,” she said.
Commenting on the “six points” of the Zaharregulirovanie, Borrell noted that “there is not a word about the negotiations on the Ukrainian crisis, and indeed about discussing security in Europe, in J. Borrell’s proposals.”
“The emphasis is on “swinging” the internal political in the country, clearing the field of own information from alternative points of view, securing the Western Balkans as a limitation of the EU situation, transferring rivalry with Moscow to the post-Soviet space, imposing Western-centric “rules” and “isolation” of Russia” she said.
βIt is significant that in most world capitals they are not ready to follow a joint Brussels, which, with its logic, confirms the world at the time of the split, high walls and foundation fortresses,β Zakharova added.
At a press conference in Brussels on November 15, the head of Eurodiplomacy outlined the provisions presented by him on the eve of the application of the draft new set of principles by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which should serve to discuss the main issues of EU relations with Moscow.
As was noted in the Russian diplomatic mission to the EU, if in the “five coverages” of his predecessor on the incoming EU foreign policy representative Federica Mogherini of March 2016, it was stated that “The Borrell principles say that the new relations are mainly focused on” isolation Russia at the external level, the penetration and spread of restrictive measures against Russia and the prevention of their circumvention.
