Rouen cyclists will be delighted! The Rouen Normandy metropolis a decision of sustain the temporary development of a track on Avenue du Mont Riboudet in Rouen. Here’s what’s planned.
The “coronapist” of Mont Riboudet will stay
Cyclists are now accustomed to the “coronapist” developed since 2020 along Avenue du Mont Riboudet. A temporary arrangement carried out in the midst of a pandemic which will be made permanent as part of the express bicycle network of the Rouen metropolis.
The Métropole has in fact published a public contract for the “construction of a cycle path between the avenue du Mont Riboudet and the quai Gaston-Boulet”. This represents more than 1.7 kilometers cycle lane from Boulevard des Belges to Route du Havre.
“It has been identified as very circulating, like from that of the boulevard de l’Europe“, notes Simon de Gentil-Baichis, municipal councilor in charge of mobility at the City of Rouen. Sustainability is therefore the subject of “public consultation with local residents but also the concessionaires of the avenue”.

Construction must begin in 2023. Simon de Gentil-Baichis promises work “with little impact” on traffic. Total revealed cost of the work, nearly 1.8 million euros (excluding taxes).
