SK Slavia Praha and Slovácko advanced to the quarterfinals of the MOL Cup home cup
The players of Slavia and Slovácko advanced to the quarterfinals of the domestic MOL Cup. In the round of 16, Prague won 2:0 at the stadium of the second league Karviné. Ondřej Lingr, a pupil of Slezan, scored the goal and the assist. The defenders of the trophy in Uherské Hradiště defeated Mlada Boleslav 1:0 with a goal by Jan Kalabiška.
Slavists dominated from the start. David Jurásek shot inaccurately, Matěj Jurásek also missed the Karvina goal with his head. In the 18th minute, the guests were waiting. The corner kick was extended by Lingr to Olayinka and the Nigerian striker opened the scoring. In the 31st minute, after Hromad’s pass, Lingr increased the score. The Karvin schoolboy, who led Slavia for the first time as captain, instead of celebrating the goal, apologized with a gesture from the home fans.
After the change of sides, Slezáné had a few hints, but no outright chance. The favored guests did not add any more goals, as Olayinka, Lingr, and Masopust did not beat goalkeeper Ciupa. Sláviste did not lose in the ninth competitive game in a row, of which they won for the eighth time.
Slovácko was more active from the beginning. At the end of the first half, Havlík still hit the post, but in the 55th minute Kalabiška already scored after a corner kick. The 35-year-old fullback or midfielder scored against his former team.
Home goalkeeper Nguyen then blocked a shot from Karafiát, who received a red card in the 88th minute for a hard foul on Tomić. Slovácko did not lose to Mlada Boleslaví in the fourth competitive duel in a row.
