From the very beginning, the mission of the award has been to acknowledge the cultivation and nurturing of Hungarian culture, and to honor outstanding representatives of Hungarian art, science and sport. The Prima Primissima Foundation was founded in 2003 by Sándor Demján, and was supplemented with regional Prima awards in 2005.
Hajdú-Bihar County joined the Prima Primissima system in 2007. Nowadays, the best of the county in intellectual life, culture, science, art and sport receive independent recognition throughout the country. They are the ones who can be closely observed and recognizable role models for the narrower community of their country.
The aim of the county Prima awards system is to preserve the local achievements of Hungarian intellectuals and spirit, strengthening the cohesion of smaller social units and promoting their development.
The county Prima prize, awarded annually, can be won by three people per county.
They paid tribute to exceptional achievements with an unusual award. At the gala evening – unlike the traditions – the prize winners received a uniquely designed, special work of art. The “Flame of Respect” is made of noble materials: the base is granite, and the flames made of chrome-nickel plates were placed in a bronze chalice.
The Prima Primissima Hajdú-Bihar County Board of Trustees meeting was held on September 28 at the County Chamber of Commerce Headquarters. The board of trustees decided to present the county Príma awards this year in the categories of Hungarian science, Hungarian knowledge dissemination and media, and Hungarian fine and applied arts, and to choose a special award in the category of Hungarian music.
Accordingly, this year, in the “Hungarian science” category, the county’s Prima prize was awarded to ophthalmologist Dr. Attila Vajas, chief physician of the Eye Clinic of the University of Debrecen Clinical Center, and member of the board of the Hungarian Ophthalmological Association.
Based on the decision of the board of trustees, Andrea Pálffy, editor-reporter of the Media Center Debrecen, received the county’s Prima award in the “Hungarian information dissemination and media” category.
Róbert Rácz, winner of the county Prima prize, became one of the fresh and modern representatives of contemporary art in Debrecen in the “Hungarian fine and industrial arts” category. And the special award, in the “Hungarian music” category, was awarded to actor-singer Dánielfy Gergely.
The Hajdú-Bihar County Entrepreneur of the Year award winners were also announced at the gala evening. Accordingly, this year the Hajdú-Bihar County Entrepreneur of the Year award went to Ferenc Miklóssy, managing director of Keviép Kft. The Hajdú-Bihar County Service Provider of the Year award was presented to István Herdon, the president and CEO of Xanga Ventures Zrt. The Hajdú-Bihar County Industrial Company of the Year award went to Károly Balogh, managing director of Karsol Kft. Herman Kovács, the CEO of Nagisz Zrt. Nádudvar, received the Hajdú-Bihar County Agricultural Enterprise of the Year award.
The Hajdú-Bihar County Bank of the Year award went to Endre Molnár Tamás, head of the Debrecen branch of Polgári Bank. Hajdú-Bihar County’s award for outstanding social involvement was received by Gergely Pacza, head of the Urban Development Department of the DMJV Mayor’s Office.
In accordance with tradition, the Entrepreneur of the Year award was also announced. In 2022, the economic operator of Hajdú-Bihar with the best performance can receive the prestigious recognition. The recipient will be able to receive the award in the Palace of Arts on Entrepreneurs’ Day in Budapest. This year, the Entrepreneur of the Year award went to individual entrepreneur Sándor Hajdú.
