Most parts of Prague offer skating rinks to the public in winter

Skating rinks will be in operation in most of Prague’s districts this winter. The ice surface on the Čapadlo embankment will open the season today for the public. Some town halls directly operate ice rinks, others offer areas for rent. The entrance fee will be around 50 kroner for the tolled areas, and there will be a skate rental shop available almost everywhere. ČTK was informed by the spokesmen of the city districts.

The Čapadlo outdoor ice rink on the Prague embankment will be accessible to the public free of charge, skates will be available to rent for 150 crowns. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the rink. The space will be equipped with outdoor heat radiators.
Prague 2 will not operate the public ice rink directly, but rents the areas for the ice rink. Those interested will be able to visit the ice surface in Grébovce or Folimance from December 1. All-day admission to both ice rinks will be 50 crowns, children under six will be admitted for free. Renting skates will cost 80 crowns.
In Prague 5, people will be able to visit the ice rink in Smíchov for free. There will be a charge for renting skates, for 80 crowns. The rink will be open from November 26 to February 26.
People will also be able to use the free entry at the ice rink at Vypich in Prague 6 and at Letná, where the ice rink will be put into operation by Praha 7 on December 1. Letná will be open daily until February 28. Those who come without skates will be able to borrow them. There will also be a smaller ice rink nearby where children can learn, and refreshments in the bistro.
In Prague 8, there will be ice rinks on the playground at ZŠ Glowackého, in the Löwit mill and at the Ládví swimming pool. On all three, the entrance fee is 60 crowns per day, and children up to the age of 10 will be able to skate for free. On the contrary, Prague 4, Prague 10 or Prague 11 will not operate any ice rinks this year, spokespeople said.
