Historical moment for Turkey: ‘floating castle’ Anatolia! TB-3 and RED ELMA are next.

Sugar Mizzy November 19, 2022

The Ministry of National Defense announced that the AH-1W SUPER COBRA and SH-70 SEA HAWK helicopters of the Naval Forces have successfully landed for the delivery of TCG Anadolu during the ongoing tests on the TCG Anadolu ship, which will be the first amphibious assault ship of Turkey. structured by the Ministry,We want to start the day with photos that will make our noble nation proud. The AH-1W SUPER COBRA and SH-70 SEAHAWK helicopters of our Navy, which you can see in the photos, succeeded in making the first landing on our Multi-Purpose Amphibious Ship LHD ANATOLIA. We wish safe flights and successful officers to our aircraft, which will serve on the LHD ANADOLU ship, which we are waiting for with excitement. expressions of violence.

Experts stated that with the test, an important threshold has been exceeded in Turkish maritime and Turkish aviation. An important flag steer expressed his wishes with the representations that TCG Anadolu will undertake. Defense and Maritime Researcher Kozan Selçuk ErkanTCG Anadolu explained important details about the meaning of the tests and the capabilities that the ship will gain to the Turkish navy.

‘WE WILL CARRY OUR FLAG EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD’

Kozan Selçuk Erkan, drawing the north of the operation to gain operational experience with a flat-controlled ship for the first time in the history of the Turkish Navy, drew attention to this development as a very important step for the Turkish navy. Erkan, “The landing and take-off of the helicopters that will serve on this ship means that the trainings for the hangar have started. From V-22s used by the Americans to TCG Anadolu ships, to CH-47 type helicopters used by Turkish observation vehicles. world Almost any helicopter on it can land. Helicopters operating within the Turkish Naval Forces have landed in the current tests. In other words, the training of the helicopters that will serve on the ship has started.” said.

Kozan Selçuk Erkan, who drew the sky that TCG Anadolu is not a very suitable ship to serve in the Aegean Sea, said, He stated that the ship will strengthen the Turkish navy’s hand in the Eastern Mediterranean. Emphasizing that TCG Anadolu will represent the Republic of Turkey by undertaking very important tasks in times of peace, Kozan Selçuk Erkan continued his words as follows:

“There are geographical conditions in the Aegean Sea that affect us a lot. TCG Anadolu will be a ship that will show the flag all over the world, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean. Warfare is not the only feature of these ship styles. Such large amphibious ships are used very actively in times when aid needs to be delivered, especially in natural disasters. Right after the recent explosion in Lebanon, the first ships to go to the region were the amphibious ships of the French navy. When there was an earthquake in Haiti, the Italian navy sent ships of the same class as TCG Anadolu for help. This type of amphibious ship is the safest and easiest way to deliver aid anywhere in the world.”

Erkan underlined that such ships should not be seen as an important actor only in wartime, “It should be seen as the most important thing that shows the flag in times of peace, too. In my opinion, the most important task of TCG Anadolu is to be a floating fortress that will be our representative in time of peace.” he said.

‘NEW HELICOPTERS CAN BE BUY’

Experts state that the Turkish Naval Forces will need more helicopters once the LHD-class TCG Anadolu ship enters service. The Turkish Navy currently uses the S-70 SEAHAWK and AB-212 type helicopters in its inventory for submarine defense, surface warfare, search and rescue and general purpose missions. Recently, AH-1W SUPER COBRA helicopters, which were in the inventory of the Turkish Land Forces, were transferred to the Naval Forces and the Turkish Navy started to operate attack helicopters for the first time.

Kozan Selçuk Erkan stated that the T625 GÖKBEY helicopters, which will be searched and put into service by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), can be made capable of serving in TCG Anadolu. “There has been no publicity yet by TAI on this subject. However, the research and development department has previously announced that it is working for a GÖKBEY that is suitable for sea conditions and can serve in TCG Anadolu. According to the maritime mission versions of GÖKBEY helicopters, the purchase of new or second-hand SEAHAWK helicopters can be brought according to the ship load with the USA until they are ready. This is also possible.” made his comment.

Kozan Selçuk Erkan uses the ability of the Turkish Armed Forces to test their joint mobility after the TCG Anadolu ship is commissioned. “After TCG Anadolu is commissioned, we will see the CH-47 and ATAK helicopters, which serve within the Turkish Land Forces, at the TCG Anadolu flight” shared their words.

‘WE DID A SIGNIFICANT JOB WITH ALTAY’S TEST’

Emphasizing that the test use of the Altay main battle depot with full load in the tank operations of TCG Anadolu was a very important success recently, Kozan Selçuk Erkan added:

“It is the first time in the world that such a heavy tank has been tested fully loaded on a ship of this class. It is in strong condition and additional defensive measures to minimize the risks involved in these threats make the tanks heavy. It was a heavy tank by nature. We were the first country to successfully test it.”

‘A GREAT THRESHOLD’

Stating that the tests carried out in the relations of TCG Anadolu have important pictures for the Turkish Naval Forces and Turkish Naval Aviation and that a great expression has been exceeded, Kozan Selçuk Erkan said, “The thing that will make us happiest in the next period will be to see the TB-3 on TCG Anadolu flights” said. Checking that the TB-3 can be tested directly at TCG Anadolu after it is ready for flight, Erkan said, “I hope to see TB-3 at TCG Anadolu in 2023. It seems that a long death is possible for KIZILELMA to take part in the ship for now” made a prediction.

CAN ANOTHER AIRCRAFT LAND?

Kozan Selçuk, whose outer parts are remarkable, underwent a major overhaul so that a piece other than the F-35B or Harrier could land in TCG Anadolu, “For this kind of work, a newly-invented ship needs to be overhauled again in a short time, and this is not very effective. For this to begin, TCG Anadolu needs to undergo a serious change. This may come up in the half-life modernization. The nice thing about the TB-3 is that the ship is currently maintenance-free. This is a huge achievement for our aviation. But when this ship is to land on KIZILELMA, Hürjet or a conventional jet plane, then the ship needs to undergo some revisions.” He ended with a smile.
