Fire emissions shut down fire at a gas pipeline near St. Petersburg – North-West |
November 19th. Interfax-Russia.ru – An open fire on a gas pipeline in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region has been extinguished, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said on Saturday.
“At 18:19, the liquidation of open burning was announced at the site of the fire,” the message says.
Earlier, the public relations and media service of Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg told reporters that the gas workers were completing the reconnection of consumers to gas supply from other gas pipelines after the rupture of the main gas pipeline in the Vsevolozhsk district.
The gas transportation company noted that on Saturday at 15:32 Moscow time in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region, approximately at 782 km, a rupture of the main Belousovo-Leningrad gas pipeline was discovered with a fire. There were no casualties, the Transgaz assured.
The site was promptly shut down. The emergency team of OOO Gazprom transgaz St. Petersburg was sent to prevent the rupture and is leading the preparations for restoration work.
“The switchover of consumers to gas supply from other gas pipelines is being completed,” the Gazprom subsidiary (MOEX: GAZP).
According to the press service of the TFR department for the Leningrad Region, in connection with the fire, a pre-investigation check was organized under Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the safety of industrial enterprises). The inspection was also confirmed by the prosecutor’s office of the region.
