This Saturday morning, a dozen activists spilled fake blood in Rouen, to “to symbolize the 6,500 men who died in Qatar during the construction of air-conditioned football stadiums”.

The association also denounces an ecological aberration: “It will be 21 degrees in the stadiums while it will be 31 degrees outside. Today everyone is aware of the climatic problems and yet we authorize the World Cup in Qatar and the Winter Olympics in Saudi Arabia. This it’s not possible to continue this!”, launches Tempérance, activist of the association Extinction Rebellion.

Seven air-conditioned open-air stadiums have been integrated for this World Cup, which would represent 3.6 million tonnes of CO2 emitted for one month of competition.
