Cities Trophy: Toulouse stays alive
Toulouse waited for the starting shot to overcome Vesoul and thus validate his ticket for the last four of the Trophée des Villes.
At the time of starting the triplet of its quarter-final, Toulouse is on the edge of the precipice. Facing Vesoul, the defending champion lost the two doublets. The Haut-Garonne are therefore up against the wall. It is also Vesoul who confirms his superiority by opening the scoring during the triplet (2-0). The players from Haute-Saône doubled the bet (4-0) and continued to race in the lead (5-0).
Toulouse fought back in the next lead (5-3), then took control of the game for the first time (5-6). Vesoul responds by crossing the halfway point (7-6). Toulouse scored two points and went back in front in a particularly undecided game (7-8).
Cracked Vesoul, Toulouse in paradise
In this quarter-final, it’s “yours, mine” between Vesoul and Toulouse. The representatives of Haute-Saône make a first break to lead 10-8. But the title holders cling: they equalize, then in front (10-12). It was finally Toulouse who won (10-13) and who offered themselves a decisive starting shot.
The defending champions restart this decisive test better (9-6) and continue (16-12 at the end of the second workshop). The Toulousains keep their lead (24-20 after the third workshop). But Vesoul comes back from hell: 27-27, towards sudden death. It was finally Vesoul who cracked first, giving Toulouse a new place in the last four.
