This Saturday, November 19 will be marked by the organization of an anti-bullfighting demonstration in Toulouse, as in some forty other cities in France, while the bill brought by the deputy of France Insoumise (LFI) Aymeric Caron aimed at abolishing the practice will be debated in the National Assembly next week.

An anti-bullfighting law brought before the National Assembly
” The torture and death of an animal cannot legally constitute entertainment worthy of contemporary ethicsâ, insists the deputy of the ninth constituency of Haute-Garonne Christine Arrighi (NUPES), co-signatory of the bill prohibiting bullfighting in France. Even if the project was refused by the law commission this Wednesday, November 17, it will still be debated on November 24 next in the National Assembly.
In the country, there is no document that clearly specifies in which departments bullfighting is authorized. It is simply so in the territories where the practice is considered to be part heritage and tradition, namely between the country of Arles and the Basque Country, the Garrigue and the Mediterranean, between the Pyrenees and the Garonne, in Provence, Languedoc, Catalonia and Gascony. This zone therefore includes the Occitanie, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Provence-Alpes-CĂŽtes-d’Azur regions. Tradition or not, Aymeric Caron wants to ban bullfighting from French territory.
đ For the prohibition of #CorridaSee you tomorrow at #Toulouse and elsewhere in France! â
