yellow on the 3 women killed with stiletto, sifting chat dating
Pieces of a puzzle to put together. The tiles are even the traces left by the killer both at the scene of the murders and on mobiles and online platforms and dating chats. The hunt for the man who killed three women in Rome on Thursday, in the Prati district area, it is turning into a race against time and in an interlocking of clues that gradually consist of consistency. “In these cases, checkers must be reached in the first 48 hours after the events”, explain the investigators who are constantly analyzing what was collected in via Durazzo and via Riboty, the two places of crime separated by a few hundred meters and a stone’s throw by the Court of Rome.
A work that is taking place on various levels: listening to testimonies, checking the phones found in the possession of the three prostitutes and the cameras, many of which are present in the area, which could have immortalized the perpetrator of the triple bloody act. Cameras that, apparently, were set up at least in one of the victims’ homes, perhaps a sort of protection given the risky business of the three women. The passepartout to identify the man who stabbed Martha Castano Torres, a 65-year-old Colombian, and two Asian women, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, is in a chat on a dating platform.
It is an online site used by Castano to schedule appointments with clients. It is in those digital contacts that the investigators hope to find elements to turn the investigation around. A “signature” of those who killed three times in the space of a few hours and in two places a few hundred meters apart. An area perhaps known and frequented by man. “My sister was waiting for a customer,” Martha’s sister confirmed to the investigators. According to what has been ascertained, the first murder took place in via Durazzo, in the very early hours of Thursday morning. Castano was killed during sexual intercourse with a dagger-like blade. The woman was shot several times in the chest and died in a pool of blood on her bed. According to the reconstruction of the investigators, after leaving the basement at number 38 with the weapon, the killer then reached via Riboty 28, a distance of about 850 meters, about 10 minutes on foot, much less, about 4, with the car or motorbike. There the man reached one of the two Chinese women in the first floor apartment: he withdrew to have sexual intercourse during which he attacked her. Hearing the commotion and perhaps the cries for help there second woman present in the house intervened to block it but the killer has it stabbed to death. At that juncture the other girl, completely naked, attempted a dramatic escape but was reached on the landing and hit. Then the killer, probably still covered in blood, fled: a detail that needs to be clarified, because no one noticed a man covered in blood fleeing, yet it was already morning and the area is very busy.
Did he use an alternative escape route? Did he hide in the palace? Questions to which the investigators asked for an answer. What is highly probable however is that the murderer used the same weapon for the three crimes and this could suggest a premeditated action. At the moment there is no trace of the “blade” used.
