The ride service Uber can continue to work in the canton of Geneva. The US company has agreed to pay 35.4 million Swiss francs to meet its obligations as an employer.
The sum consists mainly of the Payment of Social Security Contributions as well as compensation for the drivers.
Of the Condition granted to the multinational company after the agreement permission to continue working in the canton, as announced by the Geneva Economic Department on Friday.
That federal court had decided at the end of May that Uber in Geneva under the Law falls over taxis and transport vehicles and therefore has to treat its drivers as employees and not as self-employed.
