Simon Mouttet hands over management of Food Zurich
die Food Zurich is this largest culinary festival in Switzerland. After seven successful festival editions, Co-founder Simon Mouttet dau decided to leave the food festival to reorient themselves professionally. From December 2022, the Food Zurich association will be managed by a co-lead accepted: Nicole Giger and Violanta by Salis were managed by the board of directors of the new festival management.
Nicole Giger After years as an editor with services in text, photography, recipe editing, events and consulting in the food sector, she became self-employed. Together with her team, she stayed in a former sex cinema last year opened locally, where she is responsible for corporate strategy, communication and events. She also sits in Municipal Council of the City of Zurichis a member of the Commission for Building Construction and Urban Development and Board member of the Nutrition Forum Zurich and responsible for the policy department.
Violanta of Salis is co-owner of the communications agency of salis communication AG and was responsible for the “Zurich eats” theme month announced by the Mercator Foundation Switzerland. She was also co-director of the book and literature festival until 2021 «Zurich reads». As a member of the board of trustees of the Blind-Liecht Foundation, she was involved in setting up the dark restaurant “Blind man’s buff” in Basel responsible for fundraising and communication. She also serves as a volunteer Co-President of the Nutrition Forum Zurich.
Management thanks Simon Mouttet
Simon Mouttet had already announced in spring 2022 that he was Food Zurich end of December 2022 left to start a new chapter. Mouttet was there from the very beginning: he started in 2015 for the initialization phase as Project manager at Zurich Tourism. After a successful concept, founding and development phase, the festival has grown under his direction within a very short time one of the three biggest food festivals in Europe developed. The board of directors thanks Simon Mouttet in a statement for his outstanding merits for Zurich as a culinary location.
