San Marino. Group of parents against the compulsory stamping of badges at school, the collection of signatures has begun
We receive and publish from Angelamaria Morotti:
We are a group of parents who are not in favor of the use of the electronic badge by middle and high school students, therefore we ask that the obligation to stamp entry into Institute is removed. We have decided to present a letter to the Secretary of State for Education and Culture and to school principals in which we explain in detail the reasons who see us against such use. We wish to attach to the letter the signatures of the San Marino citizens and residents of San Marino who we appreciate our reasons and hope for the future a school made up of humanity and teachers, and not of totems.
We are in favor of a safe environment for our children but we believe that true “security” lies in the appeal of the teacher who, as a public official, maintains the obligation to certify on its responsibility the presence/absence of each student.
As parents and citizens of San Marino, we want a welcoming, educational school for our children that educates them in true responsibility, while we find that the practice of the badge is private of every foundation and above all of every educational and didactic value. Nonetheless, failure to stamp is punished with warnings about conduct in the same way as disrespectful behavior and inadequate.
Last but not least, it is sad to see one’s children stamp their entrance to the Institute in a way not unlike workers entering the factory. It seems to us rather premature to have to submit in this way the boys to practices that do not conform to their age.
