Prague – the best photos in autumn? Grébovka, Stromovka, Hvězda, but also street or Vltava
Autumn, the time of photos full of colors. The trees have golden and brown leaves, the sun is still shining and the temperatures are in the range of 5-15 degrees. There are several places in Prague that directly call themselves professional photos. According to the photographer Jakub Hájek Grébovka park, Petřín or Divoká Šárka are one of such places. “But it depends on what you want to photograph. For example, the socialist housing estate also has something in it,” he tells Blesku.
“If you had to choose a few places, as a lover of Prague 7, I would definitely mention Stromovka or Letenské sady. The view of autumn Prague will make every photo special, be it family, portrait, glamor or the very view of Prague’s Old Town in a fallen leaf will become unrivaled,” adds Jana Hozová from JHFOTO.

“If I were to send a romantic date somewhere with a camera in hand, I definitely recommend it Prokopské údolí, Krčský les, Obora Hvězda,” thinks the well-known photographer and visual artist Jiří Macht2. He, unlike many other photographers, dares not to stick to the ground. Why not try to catch Prague in its autumn beauty, for example from the water?
“Probably most of all, I recommend everyone to contact OYC Marina Praha and make arrangements a private cruise on the Vltava river at sunrise. Then people will see miracles that they did not know until that moment. It will be as new as when they saw Prague for the first time from an airplane,” they say a guaranteed tip.
The best places for autumn photos in Prague? According to the well-known photographer and visual artist Jiřícho Macht2, there is little that compares to a cruise on the autumn Vltava.

The secret wedding face (not only) of the city
Perhaps no other season is as photogenic as autumn. This applies not only to landscapes, forests, valleys, but also to cities. “Prague autumn is for me the magic that seems to have fallen out of Jakub Schikaneder’s paintings. Sad, foggy, dryit paradoxically even dangerously offers short days approach the border of kitschwhich at the cost of often uncomfortable conditions when taking photos, looks quite pleasant in the warmth of homes,” reflects Jiří Macht2.
“That’s what autumn becomes a cliché repeated a million timeswith which sooner or later every photographer describes himself according to his vision of the world, which in the end did not have the same from other seasons, as the author should preserve his handwriting regardless of sun or gloom,” he states.
How to take pictures of people
When a Prague citizen wants to have his picture taken, a professional should choose a place for him to transform himself into trees. “The views over the parks towards the city are suitable. For example, the surroundings of the Vltava, a park in Průhonice or a dendrological garden,” I think I’m a photographer. If it’s foggy, photos on bridges are appropriate. “The Charles Bridge is the most overcooked, but the new Trojský most also has charm,” adds Jakub.
According to Jana Hozová, every autumn day brings with it new colors. “Autumn is quickly passing and with it the colors of each leaf are changing quickly. AGAINST this is where the space for creativity is hidden, which every good photographer likes to use. Autumn mornings are often under a veil of fog, which gives the photo depth and magic.” I think Jana.

Autumn, the best photos!
According to Jakub, in autumn the light is softer even during the day, the colors are more muted, but they take up more space. “It also often drizzles or is foggy. It is generally the most magical part of the year. And you also get the worst colds,” laughs Jakub Hájek. But I definitely have to watch out for background distractions when taking pictures.
Furthermore, it is advisable to choose the ratio of focus and aperture with regard to the intended blurred background. “In the fall, you can effectively use the artificial lights that are in the streets and make a very specific bokeh,” adds Jakub, with whom Jiří agrees. “Like every other day, I also try to follow the insignificance of the motif and the larger one on the autumn days the focus is on the light,” advises Jiří, who finds an unexpected principle in the gloomy autumn lighting: “I have to admit that in autumn, I like that I don’t have to get up at four in the morning for the morning light,” Laughs.
According to Jana Hozová, the basis is to choose colors that complement each other. Warm and fall colors are always a good choice. It is said that the autumn weather can be a bit treacherous, as it can surprise us with sudden rain. Autumn luck prevails and the weather, light and all other essentials create a situation where the photographer must act. “That’s why we advise you to keep a cool head, wear warm clothes and, above all, enjoy yourself!” he says in conclusion.
