For the first time in Athens, the Palestine Film Festival was hosted, bringing the Greek public in direct contact with the cinema of a country that has received undivided solidarity from the anti-war international movement of our country.
From November 24 to 27, Ntounias events in collaboration with STUDIO New Star Art Cinema, organize the
first Palestinian film festival in the historical cinema of Athens.
The screening program includes eight films and documentaries, short and long, by important Palestinian filmmakers, which have been selected to be screened by a Committee of Greek filmmakers.
Through their films, the directors depict everyday life in a Palestine that has been plunged into poverty and repression.
At the same time, they narrate the dreams and hopes of people who are trying to resist Israeli apartheid and the occupation of the Palestinian territories for the last 50 years. At a time when the Palestinian drama has been forgotten, these films remind us of a people living under the boot of the Israeli.
imperialism.
The Palestine-Athens festival is part of a series of artistic events that will take place in a larger area of the Mediterranean
and is an attempt to strengthen the ties between the two communities.
During the festival two films are screened daily, with Greek subtitles.
