Near Toulouse. Illegal taking of interest? The ex-mayor of Mirepoix-sur-Tarn auditioned in police custody

Coincidence of the calendar? Three years later the collapse of the bridge Mirepoix-sur-Tarn (Haute-Garonne), near Toulouse, its former mayor was placed in police custody by the gendarmes of the toulouse saint michel companyaccording to information from The Midi Dispatch.

A real estate transaction
At the heart of the investigation, the realization of a real estate transaction on the town which has notably enabled the creation of social housing.
The former mayor was heard this Thursday in the same way as a notary and the property developer. His deputies at the time had been heard in recent months.
Contacted by Toulouse news, Eric Oget said he was “surprised” to find himself in front of the gendarmerie for this operation.
“This police custody was an excellent choice, because I was able to explain myself at length about the arrangement that we made with the municipality, an arrangement that allowed the construction of social housing and other infrastructure. An operation of which I am quite proud. We actually ceded the land to the promoter with a payment under the dation regime, which is a fairly common regime. It is a scheme by which the municipality is paid in achievements. Here, we have assessed the land and in return for this land, the promoter has created an association hall, a road system and a shared car park, all for a value of 396,000 euros. The municipality did not pay a cent”.
“I never got rich by selling land”
Would the former city councilor have enriched himself as part of this operation or sales of land to some of these relatives as mentioned by the regional daily?
On this aspect, Eric Oget strongly contests:
“It’s scandalous, it affects my honor. The police conducted a fairly thorough investigation and they clearly saw that I never got rich by selling land to my family. I am calmly awaiting the opinion of justice, ”he assures.
Custody lifted without charges
Contacted by Toulouse newsthe Toulouse public prosecutor’s office indicates, this Friday, that “the custody in this case was lifted last night” and that “the investigation is continuing”. For now, no charge official was held against the ex-mayor.
