gas and electricity, increases are coming. Here are the ones from January 2023
Figures and percentages of the increases had already been circulating for days and hours with theofficial which comes from resolutions of the Energy Authority, posted on the site, the further adjustment of tariffs is certainty. Adjustment that the Authority considered correct but partially accepted compared to the AASS proposals. For the gas the fixed increase is of 30% starting from 1 January 2023 for each consumption bracket. The impact – the Authority recognizes – will be significant on less well-off families, asking “political and institutional bodies to find ways of identifying these situations, and evaluate intervention measures to safeguard them”.
For the‘electric energymuch more complex question: from 1 January 2023 an indexed tariff, variable with market trends, the result of mediation between the Service Company and the Authorities. The mechanism, not immediately understandable, can however be simplified as follows: also in this case we proceed in stages. Ultimately, the ratio is always the same: those who consume less, save. The price of energy is obtained from the sum between the WORD PUNor the number established each month in Italy and which corresponds to the single national price and the P0 that is, the unitary spread made up of operating costs incurred by AASS (6,500,000 euros per year); the overall service profit (7,000,000); the fixed transport costs (2,600,000) and then the two negative items, i.e. those that allow citizens to pay less in a nutshell: the return of fixed installments in the bill (-6,340,000 euros per year) and – 10,000,000 retrocession of financial coverage. A point, the latter, at the center of the discussion between the parties: “It is clear that this proposed figure is decidedly lower than the estimate of €50 million made by Key to Energy at the beginning of September – writes the Authority, however managing to obtain from AASS – they explain – the guarantee of maintenance of this figure also for the years to come, in consideration of the potential risks for the Company in the event of discovery of the PUN in the future. The first adjustments will still start from 1 December 2022 but – explains the authority – with a lower quantification of the average spread compared to January.
Steps that will address further insights. “Together with the top management of the Company – says la Secretariat of State for Employment with responsibility for relations with the AASS – these data will be processed over the weekend to clarify the impact they will have on an average user. Already called for Monday 21 November a press conferencetogether with Ministry of State for Finance “to communicate them officially and with exact precision in order to avoid any form of manipulation”. And to make further clarity organized one public evening comparison with citizenship for Wednesday 23 November at the Sala Ex International in Borgo Maggiore. “From an initial analysis, – the Secretariat comments – it has in the meantime been able to ascertain that the approach adopted by the Energy Authority leave no room for alleged speculation or unjustified increases“.
