Euroleague: Monaco bounces back in pain against Baskonia
Led almost the entire second half, the Roca Team escaped in extremis from the trap set by the Basques of Vitoria (79-74), carried by Elie Okobo (22 points) in the moneytime. AS Monaco narrowly escapes a third consecutive defeat and remains in the wake of leader Fenerbahçe, whom it will host next week.
On the eve of the Monegasque national holiday, the Roca Team offers itself a new prestigious success, the sixth of the Euroleague season. But AS Monaco perhaps did not expect to fight so hard to keep their second place in the standings. Sasa Obradovic’s team – distinguished with the Monegasque Order of Physical Education and Sports ahead of the match – thought they were reliving last week’s scenario in Valencia, but his cues on his Rock made the difference in crucial moments. Especially those of Elie Okobo, author of 22 points at 6/9 on shots including a three-pointer followed by a double step to equalize (71-71) then passed two minutes from time.
Development to follow.
