A first helmet with integrated airbag unveiled in Milan
After the luminous and electronic helmet of the French brand Talihere is another innovation which this time could revolutionize safety equipment for motorcyclists: the helmet with an integrated airbag.
The first prototype was unveiled just a few days ago on the latest EICMA show in Milan. Developed by the Italian brand Airoh in collaboration with Autoliv, a safety specialist in the automotive sector, the concept is unique, capable of improving head protection for all motorized two-wheeler users without compromising day-to-day comfort.
The project is inspired by the intuition of a young Airoh engineer, Roberta Descrovi, who focused her attention during her studies on the development of a motorcycle helmet equipped with a system capable of inflating in the event of an accident. accident, thus offering the motorcyclist much better protection than that of current motorcycle helmets.
A work provoked by Antonio Locatelli, CEO and founder of Airoh: ” Since the birth of our company twenty-five years ago, we have always had the safety of those who wear our helmets at the center of our attention, this “fixed thought” has also been kept in the development of a helmet equipped of an airbag. Roberta’s studies and research are absolutely innovative and the meeting with Autoliv convinced us of the possibility of carrying out such an ambitious project capable of revolutionizing the safety of millions of cyclists.. »
A great first promising which remains for the moment still in development.
