Debrecen cyclists evaluated the year
The DSI/DKSI cycling annual evaluation meeting was held on Monday in the Grandstand building of the István Gyulai Athletic Stadium.
Zoltán Nagy, the president of the DKSI and also the head of the DSI Cycling Team’s cycling department, briefly greeted those present and then reported on the events of 2022, training camps, and outstanding results.
Looking back on the period since the establishment of the DKSI Debrecen Cycling Sport and Leisure Youth Association, i.e. since 2013, he highlighted that the work of the past nearly 10 years laid the foundation for the collaboration with the Debrecen Sports School in 2022, which will once again be able to provide cycling education within the ranks of DSI Debrecen. .
Commemorative plaque to Béla Kovács for the work done in the interest of bicycle sports and youth education in Debrecen.
Speaking of training camps, the season-opening event in Croatia in March gave impetus to the road players, who were able to take part in a meaningful, good atmosphere and, not to mention, a beautiful location, under camp conditions suitable for quality work. In connection with the XCO (montis) camps, the cooperation with Kis-Galya KSE from Bükkszentkereszt should be mentioned, since they hosted the young people from Debrecen in significant Bükk conditions on the home field. In April and June, Mátraháza hosted the cross-country training camp, which can be said to be traditional. At the beginning of December, the end-of-the-year team meeting will be held in the same place.
Summing up the successes of the team, we talked about the championship results and selection, adding that success is not the sole goal of sport, but rather an inherent part of it, since both the young and the old can use the endurance, discipline, and spirit that sport gives them in all areas of life.
of course, there was no shortage of results in the 2022 season. Opportunities were given to the national youth national team: Olivér Soós (U15), László Böszörményi (U17), Szabolcs Csáki (U17), Attila Anda (U19), and Dóra Pusztai (WU17). At this year’s championships, a total of 21 gold, 5 silver and 13 bronze medals were won in the CX, XCO, track and 4 traditional road (mountain, field, time trial, criterium) OB.
