A long-awaited development: Felsőpércsi út in Debrecen received asphalt
About 430 meters of Felsőpércsi utca in Debrecen received an asphalt pavement this year in the third phase of the investment. At the same time, 1.2 kilometers of the road was renewed along with the rainwater drainage system and road curb. The value of the works that began in April is HUF 85 million.
– We are fulfilling an old request of the people living here by paving Felsőpércsi road. The eastern part of Debrecen is an important area for major future developments. This part – which is currently in the closed garden category – may eventually become a garden city area. We have now built a collector road, and in the next period the construction of connecting roads will also begin – László Papp announced on Wednesday morning, at the on-site press conference of the completed road section.
The mayor emphasized that it is important that Debrecen’s garden program and urban development policy meet the needs and requests of the residents.
László Pósán, the parliamentary representative of the electoral district, highlighted the work of the city administration: thanks, among other things, for the fact that, when tenders and support opportunities become available, the municipality of Debrecen tries to take advantage of the opportunities. If you can only rely on your own resources, then garden developments, for example, would progress to a greater extent.
– It is not certain that there will always be grant funds, so it is necessary to increase them according to your own income. And this is possible, among other things, from economic development programs, through which factories that come to the city produce and create jobs, the father-in-law pointed out, adding that the city can use the income generated by economic development to improve access roads.
– Today is a joyful day, as we are at the end of the third stage, this collector road has been paved with an asphalt covering of about 1.2 kilometers, which the residents of the area use every day – expressed local council representative László Türk.
He emphasized: this is already the fourth street that has been renovated this year in electoral district 6.
