Prime Minister meets King of Sweden, praises bilateral ties…
BREAST – Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh met on Tuesday with King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden in the presence of Queen Silvia of Sweden, HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein and HRH Princess Rym Ali, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Prime Minister lauded the bilateral ties and emphasized the desire to expand joint cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the King and Queen of Sweden’s state visit to Jordan at the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah, and its role in strengthening bilateral ties and opening wider areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Khasawneh praised as “positive” and “important” Sweden’s role in regional and world affairs, noting that Jordan looks forward to Sweden’s presidency of the European Union (EU) early next year to improve relations and cooperation with the bloc and bilaterally. with Sweden.
The Prime Minister said that opportunities and areas are available for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of investment, education, vocational training, water treatment, renewable energy and transport, underscoring the importance of the role of the private sector in the two countries in exploring these opportunities and building on on the outstanding friendship between the two countries.
He highlighted the comprehensive modernization project spearheaded by His Majesty King Abdullah in its three political, economic and administrative tracks, as Jordan enters its second centenary. This plan, Khasawneh stressed, aimed to improve services provided to citizens and investors, develop the economy, strengthen the private sector and increase citizen participation in political and party political life.
He pointed to the government’s efforts to deal with the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis on the Kingdom and the infrastructure sectors, particularly education and health, as well as the impact of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis on the prices of raw materials and basic materials.
For his part, King Carl XVI Gustav said that his meeting with King Abdullah today was fruitful and stressed that the friendly relations between the two countries are strong and that the governments of the two countries can build on them to serve the two friendly countries and peoples.
He hailed Jordan’s role as “important” under the leadership of King Abdullah in the region and the world.
The King of Sweden praised Jordan’s comprehensive modernization process and its efforts to improve the economic and investment environment.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Minister of State for Modernization of the Public Sector, Nasser Shraideh, Minister of State for Prime Ministry, Ibrahim Jazi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, and the delegation accompanying the King. of Sweden.
