Clubs for seniors can now use the new premises in Prague 13

The thirteenth district started the extension of the Social Services Center of Prague 13 last spring. A dozen new apartments and comfortable facilities for senior clubs were created there.
The extension was released by the city district according to information from website for about 30.5 million crowns and became part of the area where the Center for Social Services Prague 13 is located. The four-story building contained a total of ten new small apartments for seniors and two multi-purpose club halls for meetings.
“I would like to thank the management of the municipal district for its correct decision to build new apartments in Lukáš. Likewise, a big thank you goes especially to the employees of the Municipal Office, who organized the construction and the workers made it, and to all the other contractors who built everything. It’s great that everything was built in one year,” Jiří Mašek thanked the center.
Clubs can organize meetings, celebrations or screenings
Clubs have the opportunity to organize joint meetings, celebrations, lectures or educational courses in two new rooms. All this in a stable and modernly equipped environment right on the center premises. Of course, modern computer technology is also available, which enables, for example, film evenings or photo screenings.
And it is the new spaces that belong to the debate on the future plans of clubs for seniors with the mayor of the thirteenth city district, David Vodrážka (ODS). They discussed with the representatives of the clubs their activities and the possibilities of supporting the town hall.
Clubs for seniors provide irreplaceable work
“Care for the elderly and the associated extension of Lukáš is one of the priorities of our district. The new extension increased the capacity of apartments and also brought new comfortable facilities for clubs. They ensure irreplaceable work, they prepare all kinds of meetings, joint activities, birthday parties, trips, and in this way I thank everyone very much for their work. They offer active leisure time for our neighbors who were born earlier,” said Vodrážka.
There are a total of thirteen clubs for senior citizens in Prague 13, which prove with their activities that even people of advanced age can have fun. At the same time, the membership base of the clubs is about 200 members, and the number of new interested parties is still increasing.
Lukáš offers a dining room, a day care center and spa services
Center of social services of Prague 13 it is based in the Lukáš House of Social Services. It is a non-profit organization established by the Municipal District of Prague 13. The building is open to the general public, who can use the dining room, computer room with internet access or landscaped garden with a gazebo.
The care service also provides its clients with escorts to doctors or to the post office, shopping, lunch delivery, transportation in specially adapted cars for the elderly and wheelchair users, or household cleaning, for example. The facility also has a day care center where seniors can be conveniently transported by car directly from home.
Lukáš is also home to a day service center that offers massages, pedicures and baths. She also performs spa treatments, such as peat wraps.
