The Government of Andorra signs an agreement with real estate to promote energy saving
It is sought that they transmit the message to the communities of owners
ANDORRA LA VELLA (ANDORRA), Nov. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of Andorra and the College of Real Estate Agents and Managers (Agia) signed an agreement on Monday to promote energy saving measures that will reduce the country’s electricity consumption by 15% this winter.
As reported in a statement, the agreement intends to send the message of savings to the communities of owners so that they can also implement savings measures and, at the same time, make the objectives known to the public.
The Minister of the Environment, Agriculture and Sustainability has highlighted the work of the executive to expand the network of entities that join the saving actions and has indicated that the will is for Agia to act as a “transmission belt”.
Likewise, consider that “one more step” is taken to raise awareness and explain to all the sectors involved in the country the importance of adopting energy saving patterns and habits to achieve the marked objective of reducing consumption, in his words.
For his part, the president of Agia, Gerard Caselles, has expressed his willingness to contribute to energy savings, especially considering the current geopolitical context and the impact that markets and derived prices may have on the country’s energy sector.
In this case, Caselles has stated that they are going to promote savings in the common areas of the buildings, in addition to making sense of getting the messages from the Government using their communication channels.
HUNDRED COMPANIES
Calvó has underlined that since the Government began to promote energy saving agreements, both with the comuns -city councils- and private entities, a hundred companies have already joined the executive’s call.
So far, the actions provided for in the agreement are the result of agreement and are not mandatory, but once the law drafted by the Government comes into force, it will be possible to establish mandatory measures.
Until now, pedagogy has been chosen and the Ministry’s inspectors make visits to companies to raise awareness and later a balance will be made to assess whether any measure must be made mandatory.
The agreement establishes that the two parties make themselves available to each other to exchange information in relation to the different energy saving measures proposed and may evolve and adapt them at any time according to needs.
