Lyon continues its recovery by dominating Lille
Called to swim in the same waters this season, Lyon and Lille were distinguished by many similarities. A certain inconstancy from the curtain lever, and an offensive style under the claw of two technicians, Laurent Blanc and Paulo Fonseca, renowned for their precepts of play. But make no mistake about it: it is LOSC, seventh, who approached this shock of the 13th day in a favorite suit against a still convalescing OL. In the event of victory, this impressive northern formation for a month could even overtake Marseille to settle in the Top 5. Lyon, for its part, had to confirm its incipient progress. Laurent Blanc had thus bet on continuity in his tactical approach with a 3-4-1-2 articulated around the Lacazette-Dembélé tandem, supported at the outposts by Aouar in a role of axial playmaker. Thiago Mendes started in midfield with Caqueret, while Gusto and Tagliafico continued in the roles of pistons on the sides. In the ranks of Lille, Fonseca still relied on a 4-2-3-1 scheme with the inevitable David at the forefront. The Canadian was supported by Gomes, Cabella and Weah in the offensive animation. After a round of observation, it was the Mastiffs who imposed their game, thanks to excellent pressing to be very effective in recovering the ball. A collective attitude that should have materialized on the bulletin board. Because without an Anthony Lopes of the big nights, OL would certainly have run after the score in this match. The first act was even one-sided.

OL made the perfect shot
After two first alerts for David (9th) and Weah (12th), the Lyonnais had a real cold sweat on a new attempt by the excellent Canadian scorer, whose shot crashed into the bar (32nd). The Lyonnais lacked a lot of things to compete with this more oiled, more incisive team. On returning from the locker room, the Lille residents also continued to make waves in the Lyon area, and Lopes again intervened, facing Angel Gomes (60th) then David (73rd). OL only needed a small but to pull off the perfect shot. He intervened in the continuity of this last fright, on a counter well carried out and concluded by a center with the string of Tagliafico, whose offering was exploited by Lacazette, opportunistic scorer (1-0, 74th). Lyon suffered until the end in this match, before blowing, at the end of the night, after a last flight from Lopes (88th). If the White version of OL continues with a second success to bring their opponents back on their heels, we will still have to wait for a first benchmark match. The quality of the opposition is not enough to mask a content that is still very perfectible. The construction site remains important. For LOSC, on the other hand, it is a small setback.
