Laurinda Alves, resigned for health reasons, being replaced by Sofia Athayy, announced this Sunday and councilman the executive by Carlos Moedas.
“Laurinda Alves resigned as councilor for health reasons and clinical architectural imperatives,” said a statement in a statement.

While she was in the executive of Carlos Moedas, as an independent councilor, Laurinda Alves was responsible for Human and Social Rights, Citizenship, Youth, Health, Relations with the Municipality and led the project for the Implementation and Monitoring of the Municipal Plan for the People who are homeless.
He was also responsible for the organization of World Youth Daywhich takes place in 2023 in the municipalities of Lisbon and Loures, with this competence later passing to the vice-president of the municipality, Filipe Anacoreta Correia.
With the resignation of Laurinda Alves, Sofia Athayde (CDS-PP), 44 years old, joins the Lisbon City Council executive. With a degree and a master’s degree in psychology, the new councilor has been a parish councilor elected in Lisbon since 2005, with previous and current verification functions, on a replacement basis.
She has been a member of the CDS Political Commission since 2009, having been Secretary of the Board of the National Council during the presidencies of António Pires de Lima and Telmo Correia.
The municipal executive was until now composed of seven elected by the “Novos Tempos” coalition (three from the PSD, two from the CDS-PP and two independents), who are the only ones with assigned roles, seven by the “Mais Lisboa” coalition (five from the PS ), one from Livre and one independent), two from the PCP/PEV coalition (both from PCP) and one from BE. With this change, the seven elected by the “Novos Tempos” coalition become three from the PSD, three from the CDS-PP and one independent.
