ANO in Prague called Spolu to a minority council
YES would like a minority council that would have time-limited support. “The current prolongation of the post-election negotiations threatens that the current council without a mandate will continue to decide on a whole range of concept prints in Prague or start completely new projects for which it does not have a political mandate. We are therefore coming up with an offer aimed at the winners of the elections (Together), namely to start negotiations on expressing support for minority city councils at a time high,” ANO representatives said in a statement.
It has previously negotiated with ANO, but claims that it wants to build a coalition on a national scale, i.e. with Pirates and STAN.
They want to discuss the budget
The Prague Pirates and Prague Sob have invited the Spolu coalition (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) to post-election negotiations, where one of the main topics should be the approval of the city’s budget for next year. The parties offer to meet next week on Monday. Martina Vacková, the spokeswoman for the Prague Pirates, announced this on Sunday.
If the city found itself in a provisional budget, it would automatically include the town halls of the city districts, the budget depends on the city-wide budget. The new coalition in Prague has been discussed without results for several weeks.
The elections in Prague were won by Spolu ahead of the second ANO movement and the third Pirates. At the same time, the Prague ANO minority on Sunday called on Spolu to create a temporary city council that would replace the current one that did not emerge from this year’s September elections.
“In this situation, we consider it the only realistic way to present a democratic, functional leadership in Prague, for our parties to meet for a joint meeting without further preliminary requirements and to try to find an arrangement in a substantive debate that will allow the formation of a coalition of democratic parties that will agree on a program for development of Prague in the following period and in which mechanisms enabling balanced cooperation will function,” the Pirates and Praha Sobě said in a statement.
So that Spolu in Prague has a mayor and a majority in the council? I can’t imagine that, says Pirátka Komrsková

One of the main topics is supposed to be the negotiations on the approval of Prague’s budget. “Given that no investment actions may be launched in the provisional budget, such a situation would have far-reaching consequences. In the current context of the macroeconomic situation, this would be an irresponsible gamble,” the statement reads.
In the provisional budget, the town hall or each month can manage only one twelfth of its previous budget and may not start new investments.
Coalition negotiations began in Prague right after the elections on Sunday, October 2, when Pirates, Praha Sobě and STAN met in the afternoon and Spolu se STAN in the evening. It has since become Pirates Together, which also dealt with ANO. The pirates and STAN again asked to bring Prague to the negotiations, which Spolu refuses.
The Spolu coalition won the municipal elections in Prague this year, winning 19 mandates in the 65-member council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates will have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates.
