MESSINA – His name is Andrea Campagna, but in art he is famous as Skilla. It is a rapper from Messina who has been attending the music scene on the banks of the Strait for years and who in a few weeks will represent Messina at the Tour Music Fest 2022, an event dedicated to emerging artists which will take place from 22 to 27 November in the Republic of San Marino. .
“After various selections they managed to access the final phase where 40 rappers will compete for the final prize and be able to represent Italy at European Music Fest Tour – explains Skilla – I’m excited. But also because I was already aware in 2021 I was selected by Machete, an important HipHop collective, as one of the best proposals on the rap scene. I am excited but also aware of my value ”.
Skilla believes “in the process”
What is Skilla talking about? “In this living room piece of revenge and social redemption. But seen in a different light, not just of someone who comes from below and tries to redeem himself with illicit acts or crime. I think the key is culture and art, I believe in trust the process, believe in the process and never stop at any bad thing that happens to you. Something that I made mine and became a part of me. It would be nice if it influenced those who listen to me ”.
