Sanberg Capital buys a majority stake in IT bootcamp Green Fox Academy
Providing courses for junior programmers and Salesforce specialists, Green Fox Academy focuses on retraining courses, additional education programs and corporate training programs in the IT sector. This is Sandberg Capital’s direct investment in Hungary – therefore this acquisition represents a huge milestone in strengthening its position in the Central European region.
Sandberg Capital has acquired a stake in the dynamic emerging Hungarian company Green Fox Academy (“Green Fox”) through its Sandberg Investment Fund II. Shortly after its establishment in 2015, Green Fox became one of the key players in the field of education in the IT segment in Hungary.
Providing a wide range of online and offline courses, Green Fox is within a few months of training people in the course of IT, it can also create tailor-made curricula or courses for corporate clients to meet their specific requirements. The company entered the Czech market in 2018, followed by Slovakia two years later.
Green Fox currently employs 113 people and has trained more than 4,000 IT specialists to date. Its founders remain even after the acquisition of management, Kristóf Bárdos as CEO, Peter Langmár as chairman of the board and Barbara Barath as general director.
“As part of the constant efforts to increase the level of digitization, basic IT knowledge is becoming – across industries – indispensable. Unfortunately, the traditional education system does not cover this demand. We believe that, together with Green Fox, we will support digitization trends in the Central European region,” says Jakub Krajčovič, investment manager at Sandberg Capital.

“Central Europe is known for its tradition in the field of manufacturing industries. However, ongoing automation will not only require IT specialists in the day-to-day operations of large companies. Workers will have to adapt to the changing measures and must come so that new opportunities in the market will come. Green Fox has the prerequisites to help people in this direction and to play a significant role in the transformation of the Central European region into a knowledge-based economy.” adds Krajčovič.
At the same time, he adds that although this is Sandberg’s first investment in the Hungarian market, it is already the company’s third investment in the field of education.
“Over the past seven years, we have built one of the strongest IT education resources in Central and Eastern Europe. We were looking for an investor who advocates innovation in education, strives to have a positive impact on society and can provide financial resources as well as know-how for faster regional growth.” said Kristóf Bárdos, co-founder and CEO of Green Fox Academy.
“Slovak private equity firm Sandberg Capital is an ideal partner, especially thanks to their extensive professional experience in the field of education and IT. The financial resources and know-how it provides opens up new dimensions for us to strengthen our corporate business and international expansion.”

“From the very beginning, we were inspired by the vision of helping as many people as possible to build a successful career. We have created a wide portfolio of courses, which includes retraining and extension programs, as well as corporate training programs tailored to the specific needs of companies. We have been able to build a stable and profitable business and we are pleased to be on the same page with Sandberg Capital, which will help support our vision and growth.” added Peter Langmár, co-founder of Green Fox Academy.
After the transaction, Sandberg Capital assumes the role of strategic investment partner in Green Fox Academy with Jakub Krajčovič in the position of vice president and Natália Letková in the position of member of the Board of Directors.
