Tomorrow the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata on Rai Uno: Green Line makes a stop in the province
Between Monte Amiata and Val D’Orcia, there is an area that is appreciated all over the world for its landscapes, typical products and history.
Peppone Calabrese and Beppe Convertini talk about it in the appointment with “Linea Verde”, broadcast on Sunday 23 October at 12.20 on Rai1.
It starts from Radicofani to tell the story of this slice of the province of Siena. Here the legendary brigand Ghino di Tacco conquered the fortress in medieval times, leaving the myth of “gentleman thief” to posterity. You cannot miss a foray into gastronomy, with some typical products such as the “ciaccia alla ricotta”, soft and tasty focaccina, and the cantucci with candied fruit, while in the hamlet of Contignano you will taste the ravioli. Also in the territory of this municipality speak the shepherds who produce the milk for the Pecorino Toscano DOP. Given the autumn period, a space is dedicated to the mushrooms of Monte Amiata, with all the tips for safe harvesting. Also on the Amiata there will be an e-bike excursion, among the splendid beech woods, with local boys who are passionate about the practice of “downhill”.
The images tell the geological conformation of the territory, from the thermal baths of Bagni San Filippo to the ancient mines to arrive at a greenhouse for exotic and indoor plants powered by geothermal energy. It ends with Francesco Gasparri’s trip to Monte Labbro, a place full of natural beauty and spirituality
