Lisbon specialist companies to think about mobility and transport
2000 participants are expected in Lisbon to jointly rethink mobility and the challenges facing the transport sector. The capital hosts the 9th edition of the Research Arena international conference (TRA022), between Transport and 17, an initiative that aims to be a hub of knowledge and solution2, with the aim of solving transport in a more efficient, safe, non-polluting way. , inclusive and sustainable. “Facing the great transport challenges of the future, it is extremely important that we work together as the best solutions and solutions to find“, says, in an interview with Diário de Notícias, Marta Pinto, delegate for the Horizonte Europa Program and spokesperson for TRA2022.
For this edition of TRA2022, Marta Pinto explains that the National Innovation Agency (ANI), leading the consortium of companies responsible for organizing the conference, brings an international professional Lisbon, recognized in terms of mobility, to debate the main challenges of transport, namely the vanguard of decarbonization and infrastructure, “but also to demonstrate that Portuguese research and industry are on a par with European”.
Under the motto “Moving together: reimagining worldwide”, a conference will also feature representatives from companies – from start-ups and large industrial organizations -, but also from professors and researchers from universities and Research & Development (R&D) centers, and from representatives of the public administration who, will have a brainstorming mission, presenting technological solutions and research results that together drive business models. “Together, in Lisbon, to better shape the future of transport and mobility”, emphasis.
See and experience innovation
TRA was born in 2006, in Gothenburg, Sweden, and is today one of the major events dedicated to research and development in the field of transport and mobility. Until arriving in Portugal, the conference in European capitals such as Brussels, Paris or Vienna. Here, and in parallel with the debates, the Lisbon Congress Center will have 7000 square meters of exhibition, where what is new in this sector at European level will be presented in terms of products, services and solutions. “An added value of the conference will serve to publicize the presentation and is for new solutions in the area of mobility”, explains Luís Maia.
The delegate for the Horizon Europe Programme, porta-2022, and senior consultant at the National Innovation Agency, emphasizes that this demonstration and exhibition area will be able to “experience one of innovations and technologies that make a multimodal and multidisciplinary set for participants in the transport sector” , and the “Portugal Corner” also stands out, a space “which aims to serve as a showcase for the whole of Europe of the best that is done in Portugal in the area of mobility”.
But the Portuguese representation will not only be in this space. In other areas of the event, it will be possible to learn about innovative projects aimed at the future of research, in the fields of mobility, research and technology. One of the presences will be a Ubi where, based in Aveiro, focused on the research and development of automated technological solutions, oriented towards the future areas of smart and integrated cities, for the smart and integrated cities sector. The University of Minho and its Research Center in Transport and Mobility – TMob-Hub, which are associated as specialists of researchers, R&D individuals and interface institutes of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho will also be present at TRA2022. TMob-Hub covers the main modes of transport, including railways, metro, roads, airways and sea and inland waterways, as well as their interaction. “Portugal certainly has a lot of knowledge to offer our foreign guests”, says Luís Maia.
The conference will also be awarded the TRA VISIONS awards. These awards recognize the winners of two countries – the TRA VISIONS 2022 Young Researcher Competition and TRA VISIONS 2022 Senior Researcher Competition – in-depth studies for young and senior researchers, respectively.
Create value through research
Scientific excellence, research and innovation are the three pillars of this conference. On the one hand, explains Marta Pinto, “we have the opportunity to learn about the most recent technological and industrial developments in transport and mobility”. On the other hand, the spokeswoman highlights the debate around other policies, opinions within European mobility, and the opinion of knowledge and experiences between Europe and the continent that, in her opinion, as differentiating factors that deserve attention to all those who work in around mobility and transport ecosystems. “The creation of value that results from the interaction between companies, professors, researchers, among others interested parts is fundamental for Portugal, not only from a research perspective, but also from an economic perspective”, he reinforces.
Marta Pinto notes that this is precisely one of ANI’s missions, as an agency that promotes and values innovation. “To act for relevant people as people to science and the construction of society”. An open objective to be achieved for people at the center, to help debate with companies, research centers and political decisions in an environment of innovation and to experiment not only with new solutions that can leverage the efficiency of companies, namely in terms of product development and differentiated services and high added value, but also new knowledge that generate impacts on society”, he concludes.
TRA 2022 is organized by ANI – National Innovation Agency, by IMT – Institute of Mobility and Transport, by CEE – Consortium of Engineering Schools, by LNEC – National Laboratory of Civil Engineering and by Magellan – European Affairs Association, and co -organized in partnership with the European Commission and in partnership with the technological and European platforms ACARE, ALICE, CEDR, ECTP, ERTRAC, ERRAC, ETRA and WATERBORNE.
Challenges to speak on four major themes
The challenge for mobility and transport, both in and in Europe, is related to the sector’s need for mobility and transport, which, as Luís Maia explains, “will have a huge energy impact, with the largest transition area of fossil fossils for renewable energies”. In the words of the ANI consultant, the TRA202 program will integrate all the great challenges that the sector will face, in which each day will be dedicated to a great differential:
Monday (14th):
Smart Solutions and Society – Smart mobility solutions and society.
Tuesday (15th):
Green Mobility and Decarbonization – Green mobility and decarbonization.
Wednesday (16th):
Innovative infrastructure for Europe 2030 – Innovative infrastructure for Europe 2030.
Thursday (17th):
Policies and Economics for a Competitive Europe – Public policies for a more competitive society.
The Journal of Technical Approaches, which will serve for the presentation of scientific issues and specific issues around a plenary session, where they will be debated as structural issues and public policies, as technical issues and more structural issues, which will serve for the presentation of technical issues and debate as more technical issues and debate as more the main scientific and technical approaches, debates as strategic issues within each theme.
