Cruise ship built in Portugal ends maiden voyage in the Port of Lisbon
the cruise ship world traveler, built in Portugal, ended on Monday the maiden voyage Porto de Lisboa – Casablanca – Porto Lisboa. Departing on October 14th and returning to the Portuguese capital on October 17th, WorldTraveller was built by more than 80 Portuguese companies and represents an investment of more than 90 million euros by the Mystic Invest group, which includes the Atlas Ocean brands. Voyages and Mystic Cruises, whose CEO is Portuguese businessman Mário Ferreira.
World Traveler stands out for its environmental performance
The World Traveller, built in Portugal, stands out for its performance in terms of sustainability, since it uses hybrid energy management technology, that is, capable of maximizing the efficiency of fuel alone, of one fifth of the fuel, compared to cruise ship geometric systems. Its alternative water jet propulsion system helps the ship to silently cruise towards us without disturbing marine wildlife, or which has the added benefit of providing comparable encounters with ocean fauna.
With 126 meters long, 19 meters wide, 4.7 meters draft, 9,300 gross tonnage, eight decks, and 98 cabins, the World Traveler has a maximum capacity for 200 passengers and 130 crew.
To mark the inauguration, with the arrival of the Port of Lisbon, the Captain of the World Traveler received a customary plaque occasionally and the ship will be commemorated by the tugs of the company Portugs.
World Traveler built in the shipyards in Viada do Castelo
World Traveler is the fourth cruise ship built in Portugal, at the West Sea shipyards in Viana do Castelo, and registered in the Madeira International Ship Register (MAR), after the ships World Explorer, World Voyager and World Navigator that started operating in 2019, 2020, and 2021 respectively, and which belong to the fleet of the operator Mystic Cruises.
After World Navigator, World Traveler is the second of five Explorer Class twins from operator Atlas Ocean Voyages, with World Seeker and World Adventurer scheduled to launch in 2023, and World Discoverer in 2024.
