The Eqiom group launches Ressourceo, what was this offer?
On the Dijon circular economy platform, we receive spoil from the construction or deconstruction of buildings which are either made of concrete or of a coated concrete mixture. And with these materials, we recycle, we crush to make new materials. These are therefore road gravels, but we have also been able to make gravel and sand for a few months, which are used in the manufacture of ready-mixed concrete.
Is it only for professionals and communities or the individual who carries out work at home can also have access to it?
This is not our biggest market, but we are targeting both fairly large public works players and essentially also all public works and masonry players who work in Greater Dijon and who are more like craftsmen, but individuals can also bring us rubble and leave with recycled materials.
What kind of services does the recycling platform offer exactly?
First, on a materials reception service. Any inert material can be brought onto the platform. These materials are weighed, checked, checked and stored on the platform in differentiated piles. Following which, we give our customers a certificate of acceptance so they can prove that they have deposited their materials on our site. Then, these materials are crushed and resold. They are clearly identified, with a controlled quality level.
Recycling is not the group’s primary activity. What prompted Eqiom to enter this market?
We are above all effectively quarry operators. But saving resources is a very, very important issue for us. Our mineral materials are infinitely recyclable and we can now give them a second life.
How many recycling platforms are there like the one in Dijon?
In Côte d’Or, it is the first. On the other hand, there are others which are already in operation, in particular in the Ile de France region and in Alsace. So today we have four active circular economy platforms for the group and we recycle 200,000 tonnes of materials.
Do you have objectives in financial terms or in terms of tonnes of recycled materials?
At the Dijon platform, we are currently turning over 40,000 tonnes of recycled materials per year. We are progressing very quickly. We would like to double this capacity.
