9.5 million euros, compared to an average of 6.5 million in previous years. Dijon has not escaped, like all the municipalities of France, the explosion of its energy bill. In accordance with the energy sobriety plan presented by the government on October 6, the community will multiply the savings measures in the coming weeks, facilitated by its intelligent application for managing public equipment, called On Dijon.
This connected system will, for example, make it possible to halve the light intensity of public lighting – the city’s main source of consumption – between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. That is enough to save around 500 MWh, according to calculations by the metropolis. Same restriction measure concerning heating: as at the national level, the offices of the community will be heated to 19 ° C, and the temperature lowered in public facilities, swimming pools in particular, where the thermostat will be lowered by two degrees.
Signs problem
In the trams, the heating will not exceed 15°, against 17° normally, according to Jean-Patrick Masson, elected in Dijon Métropole in charge of the ecological transition. Only facilities welcoming small children, nurseries and nursery schools, will escape the rigorous measures, the interior temperature being maintained at 20°.
“Regarding the extinction of lights in downtown shops, some chains do not respect the measure. The state does not provide us with the means to control and draw up the minutes, ”recently admitted the elected official at the microphone of France Bleu Bourgogne. Dijon has also decided to reduce the duration of the Christmas lights to four weeks, against five traditionally. With all these measures, the metropolis intends to save more than 1,600 MWh, i.e. a saving of around 600,000 euros this year.
