It is within the Cartridge factory district one four-screen cinema will emerge. The building permit will be submitted in a few days and construction will begin in the first half of 2023, with delivery scheduled for the end of 2024.
The project was validated by the Departmental Commission for Cinematographic Development on Wednesday October 6, 2022.
A nearby cinema
The future cinema, which will become the local cinema of the Left Bank, will be managed by the company Veo Cinema (which already manages the Veo cinemas in Muret and Colomiers, editor’s note).
The place will offer four rooms, for 437 armchairs in total. A central aisle will welcome the public and organize events. All over 1,200m2 of a particular building.
In the old halls
The new cinema does not come out of the ground ex-nihilo. It will insert one of the old halls of the Cartoucherie, more precisely hall 128.
Henry Master, founding president of the Toulouse company Cine ID who is going to build this cinema after having made those in Muret and Colomiers, explains to Toulouse news the fundamentals of the project.
“It’s a neighborhood cinema project in the heart of the city, at the Cartoucherie, and which will mainly target spectators who will come in soft mode even if a parking silo is accessible in the neighborhood. It’s a cinema which does not require any artificialization of the soil since the skeleton of an existing building is taken over. These are the rooms which have been adapted to the configuration of the building”.
Inside, the public will be able to find four rooms: “We will rather be in the small intimate room, with 40 seats to 160 seats. The central aisle, which marries the central bay of the current building, will make it possible to welcome the public, to position the ticket office there and to make it possible to organize animations related to the cinema”, describes the president of ID Ciné.
