Sonja Prosenc is starting to shoot her third feature, Odrešitev
– Katarina Stegnar, Marko Mandić, Mila Bezjak and Aliocha Schneider will star in a black comedy-drama with a family theme, also written by Prosenc.

Slovenian helmer Sonja Prosenc started shooting her third feature film, salvation, in Ljubljana at the beginning of October. Genre-wise, it departs from her two previous feature films, A tree [+see also:

film profile], which were chamber dramas. Both of Prosenč’s previous films were successful both at festivals and on home soil, where they were submitted as national submissions for the American Oscars.
According to the synopsis, salvation will be a dark comedy drama with a family theme revolving around the seemingly perfect family consisting of Olivia, Aleksander and their daughter Agatha. When Julian arrives at their home, their lives are turned upside down, revealing the dysfunctional relationship that lies beneath the facade. The film humorously explores the theme of emotionally empty elites, but in the context of contemporary social issues.
The actors and crew of the film come from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, France and Norway. He leads the cast Katarina Stegnar (who collaborated with Prosenc on A tree), Marko Mandic (prolific actor in Slovenian and German cinema), Mila Bezjak and a French thesp Aliocha Schneider (see Stephen Dunn Monster from the closet), while he is the star of Prosenč’s previous film Kristoffer Joner, Judita Franković Brdar, Jure Henigman, Matija Vastl and Serbian music star Ana Đurić/Construct have notable supporting roles.
As far as camera talent goes, Prosenc has his pick Mitja Ličen again as its director of photography, and takes care of editing Ivana Fumićproduction design by the author Tajana Canić Stankovićand costume design by the author Gilda Venturini and Dubravka Skvrče. Tina Šubic and Lija Ivančič they take care of makeup.
The main manufacturing company involved is Institution Mono owith Deadline Cut as the main producer. They are co-production houses Incipit Film from Italy, Wolfgang&Dolly from Croatia, Incitus Film from Norway and Live pictures from Serbia. Sonja Prosenc developed her script for the film at Eurimages Pop Up Film Residency in Paris, and the project received support Creative Europe – MEDIAthe Slovenian Film CenterNorwegian Rogaland Filmkraft and Mediefondet Zefyr regional funds, Italian Ministry of Culturethe Film Commission and Film fund Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Croatian Audiovisual Center, Film Center of Serbia and RTV Slovenia.
