San Marino. La Fiorita meets the Domagnano. Vitaioli: “It is important to guess the approach and bring out our qualities”

Sugar Mizzy October 7, 2022

Leaving behind, for the moment, the Titan Cup, the concentration returns to the championship.

Tomorrow, at 15:00, the Gialloblù will face Domagnano in the match valid for the fifth day. They will do it as solo leaders (albeit with a round to recover compared to Pennarossa and Tre Penne), after the direct clash won last Saturday against Cosmos. A victory that has strengthened the awareness of one’s own means and which then contributed to the rampant success on Tuesday evening in the Titan Cup.

“Two different victories – comments the forward Matteo Vitaioli -. Saturday was a very close match, against one of the favorites for the final victory. We did an excellent test, we knew We did well not to immediately be too much and then to be incisive in the final minutes, also benefiting from the entry into the field of the second half. The fact that we can count on a bench of players who could easily play from the start is our strength. Tuesday night was a more affordable challenge on paper, although playing during the week is never that easy. In this case we were good at directing it to our side immediately and bringing out our qualities “.

For the final 5-0 Vitaioli contributed with a brace that brings the yellow-blue goals to three since the beginning of the season.

“It’s a good start – he comments – scoring a goal is always a pleasure especially for those who play up front, but scoring when you win is even more beautiful. It was important to give continuity to the streak, as the team changed quite a bit in the summer. In addition, we win 4-5 games without conceding any goals, so the start was with all the trimmings “.

Vitaioli is one of the players who arrived with the summer transfer market. For the record holder of appearances with the Biancazzurra national team, it can be said not the first experience in the San Marino Championship, except for a very brief parenthesis at Pennarossa during the months of Covid.

“I have always played outside of San Marino – he explains -, I have always liked going around on different fields on Sundays. This year I made a choice of life, to get closer to home and my family. A choice also offered, after so many years at Tropical Coriano, a special relationship has been created. I regard the president as a second father and will always thank him for what he has done for me. I was expecting to arrive in a difficult championship, but I didn’t think so much. Compared to a few years ago the level is much higher, a lot of teams have strengthened. Do you ever come to La Fiorita? I hadn’t made a lot of publicity about my decision to return to San Marino, 4-5 clubs contacted me and La Fiorita was one of them. When the defending champion team looks for you, the choice is quite simple. It was also very easy to integrate into the group: many guys are my team-mates in the national team, others I knew by sight, with Palazzi I had played together for a year in Coriano. They are all very helpful guys ”.

In closing a thought to the opponent of tomorrow.

“Domagnano is a good team, with good individuals like Lago and Ceccaroli – concludes Vitaioli -. An opponent to be respected, who will give us a lot of trouble. We will have to be good at approaching the challenge in the right way and bring out our strengths ”.
