Salzburg Airport: Winter timetable 2022/2023 | Flughafenzentrale.de
Saluburg Airport is about to switch to the 2022/2023 winter flight schedule. With the first snowfalls, Salzburg and the region expect many guests from all over the world who want to spend their winter holidays in the beautiful mountain scenery of Salzburg and on the endless ski slopes.
The extensive winter flight program offers top destinations in the south, such as Egypt, Turkey, the Canary Islands or the United Arab Emirates, but also northern destinations such as Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland or Great Britain and Ireland.
“We hope for a winter season without travel restrictions and are happy about our destinations from Salzburg in 19 federal states. The EuRegio Salzburg-Bayern is looking forward to the guests who enjoy their winter holidays in Salzburg and the neighboring regions. Via our international hub connections such as Amsterdam, Belgrade, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London – now also via Paris – our passengers can reach travel destinations all over the world with short transfer times,” says Airport Managing Director Bettina Ganghofer.
Escape the cold and recharge your batteries in the sun? Since October, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings has been flying passengers once a week from Salzburg to Gran Canaria (SO) and Tenerife (FR). In addition to numerous beaches, the Canary Islands offer numerous opportunities for an active holiday: adventurous hiking routes, challenging mountain bike trails and golf courses to improve your own handicap. Incidentally, the Canary Islands are also one of the most sought-after hotspots for divers, surfers, jet skiers and kitesurfers. Of course, in addition to families and adrenaline junkies, night owls also get their money’s worth in the numerous bars and nightclubs. Should it rather be Egypt? Hurghada is served 4 times a week (Eurowings and Corendon) and is accessible via the popular tour operators TUI, FTI and the like. Bookable. Would you like to fly a little further south and directly from Salzburg? Then Dubai is the right destination – flydubai flies up to 4 times a week to the city of superlatives! No matter whether the mega hotels like the Burj Khalifa or the Burj Al Arab and the numerous shopping possibilities in the metropolis are used, or a desert safari with camel ride and quad tour is planned, Dubai is worth a visit! The temperatures in the desert city level off at 24° to 26° in winter. It gets a little colder in Turkey, because in Istanbul (daily with Turkish Airlines) you have to reckon with around 10°. Larnaca is planned every Saturday this winter from the end of February, due to the Mediterranean climate in Cyprus with average temperatures of 16°-18°, the island is ideal for hiking or city trips.
City trips more popular than ever
Sights, art and culture, great shopping? City trips are always in demand. Transavia connects the Netherlands with Salzburg with daily direct flights to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven. With numerous museums, the famous red light district and charming canal points, Amsterdam, Eindhoven is known as a center of technology and design. Brussels will be included in Transavia’s program this winter (twice a week). Another highlight: from December 10th we will be flying back to the French capital Paris (Air France, each SA)! Also, did you know that you can travel to many destinations on the Skyteam network with Transavia and Air France throughout the KLM / Air France network?
The Serbian capital Belgrade (MI, SA) is new to the winter programme, from where numerous other destinations in the Balkans and Europe can be reached. Scandinavia Airlines, Norwegian and Eurowings fly several times a week to Copenhagen, the cultural and economic center of Denmark. Sweden (Stockholm) is served by Norwegian and Eurowings (each twice a week), Norway (Oslo) also twice a week with Flyr and Norwegian. You can reach the Finnish capital Helsinki with Finnair, the Latvian metropolis Riga and the Estonian Tallinn can be reached once a week with Air Baltic. The flight program is rounded off with Icelandair and Fly Play to Reykjavik (island).
A visit to the Empire: Great Britain rocks!
If you share this opinion, you will find a wealth of interesting destinations on the written islands. In addition to London City (BA Cityflyer), Gatwick (easyJet & British Airways), Heathrow (British Airways) and Stansted (Ryanair, jet2.com) airports will also be served in London this winter. Other UK destinations include Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton.
Germany – Salzburg’s largest market
Traditionally, most of the guests for EuRegio Salzburg-Bayern come to Salzburg via German airports. Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Cologne are served by Eurowings, Frankfurt (up to 4 times a day with Lufthansa) and Lübeck Air also flies to Lübeck once a week.
Wander into the distance
Long-distance destinations can also be conveniently flown to from Salzburg – with only one change. The entire flydubai / Emirates route network is available via Dubai and it goes to Mauritius, Australia or the Maldives, for example. With the Star Alliance, you can fly via Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and Istanbul (Turkish Airlines) to popular destinations in North America, Thailand, Mexico or the Caribbean. Destinations in Europe and worldwide can also be reached via Amsterdam (Transavia / KLM), London (British Airways), Belgrade (Air Serbia) or Düsseldorf (Eurowings).
