It is one of the most produced places in Toulouse. the forecourt Valéry Giscard d’Estaing located in front of Matabiau station will be “baptized” this Saturday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. Jean-Luc Moudenc, Toulouse Town Hall will be in the company of local elected officials as well as representatives of the Valéry Giscard d’Estaing Foundation. An initiative in tribute to the President of the Republic who passed away in 2020.

A new name for the square
The name will thus be baptized by many personalities. Will notably be present: Anne-Aymone Giscard d’Estaing, honorary president of the Valéry Giscard d’Estaing FoundationLouis Giscard d’Estaing, president of the Foundation Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, mayor of Chamalières, Dominique Bussereau, vice-president of the Foundation Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, former minister, Souhay la Marty, district mayor and Jean-Michel Lattes , Deputy Mayor in charge of road naming.
This new name pays tribute to the man who initiated the Grand Sud-Ouest Plan, mobilizing increased investment resources in favor of innovation in the territory. Located in front of Matabiau station, the Valéry Giscard d’Estaing forecourt is made of wood and allows pedestrians to cross the Canal du Midi and stroll through a new public space.
