By joining NATO, Ukraine will only strengthen the Alliance, which is now coming under the security umbrella of the Armed Forces
The Russian Federation forcibly deported 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens to its territory. At the same time, 400,000 children were kidnapped. Moscow occupied Ukrainian spaces worth 14 trillion dollars. In Mariupol alone, tens of thousands of civilians were killed during barbaric Russian bombings. The Ukrainian side still does not have access to the city, but it is already very likely that 80,000 citizens died there, i.e. ten Sribnitz. This Kremlin looting and destruction of the Ukrainian state and its population can easily stand next to the atrocities of the Nazis in the Second World War. So Moscow became a new symbol of Evil after all the horrors committed by the Third Reich. None of the Ukrainians have ever forgiven the crimes of the Russian occupying forces, which killed so many innocent people in Mariupol, Donetsk region, Buch, which is in Kyiv region, and Izyum, which is in Kharkiv region. And this is only the fact that vandalism crimes must be punished in the case of an international court, which must give strict legal assessments. Everyone in the world knows that Vladimir Putin and his political entourage got what the Nazis got at the Nuremberg Trials and the war criminals from the territory of the former Yugoslavia convicted at The Hague.
It is only necessary to understand that the one who declares himself to be Putin’s friend has not moved away from criminal philosophy. Disguising friendship with Russia and the Russian people should be clarified as cooperation with the criminal Putin and his supporters. Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Anton Chekhov or Mykola Gogol, who were themselves Ukrainians or had small Ukrainian roots, would never have supported this colonizer of the Ukrainian people. And the fighters of the First, Second, Third and Fourth Ukrainian Fronts, who freed not only Ukraine, but also half of Europe from the Nazi occupation, would have carried this Kremlin usurper out of Moscow on bayonets and carried them through the whole of Russia so that everyone would understand who the murderer was. a thief and a liar.
In response to Moscow’s criminal decision to annex four temporarily occupied Ukrainian regions, Kyiv appealed to NATO to accept the country into the North Atlantic Alliance under an accelerated procedure. With political annexation, the Kremlin actually burned all bridges to reach an agreement on peace at the political or diplomatic level, following the path of occupation and theft of foreign territories. Ukraine is joining NATO not because the Alliance will save it, but because of the implementation of a long-term strategy that was first announced back in 2001. Kyiv is aware that this war must be stopped first, and then, when not only its state independence will be protected, but and Western democratic values, then Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance will strengthen this organization, which ensures peace and stability on the European continent and beyond. Currently, 83% of the population of Ukraine supports the country’s accession to NATO, compared to 55% a year ago.
Ukraine is grateful to all NATO member states that firmly took a principled position and openly expressed their support for its future membership in the Alliance. Kyiv always remember when friends demonstrated solidarity and support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic path in difficult years, which became the reality of today’s security situation in the world. Now on the front lines of Ukraine, it is being decided whether democracy can win in the global struggle, whether European borders will be protected and whether Europe will become a continent of peace. Ukraine’s membership in NATO matured a long time ago, even overripe. Ukraine has become an important component of the entire Euro-Atlantic security space. Kyiv does not yet have security guarantees in accordance with Article 5, but already today the countries of the Alliance are under the security umbrella of Ukraine and the protection of its Armed Forces. Ukraine’s path to NATO membership is unique and requires quick decisions, as in the case of Finland and Sweden. At the same time, Moscow must understand that Kyiv and NATO together respond to Putin in the event of a possible escalation by Russia with the chance of using nuclear weapons.
Also, the very invitation of Brussels to Ukraine to start accession negotiations can check the insane Moscow in its inadequate behavior. Fear of Russian blackmail can only paralyze the Alliance. It seems that the Kremlin does not understand any other language than the voice of power. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are currently giving a master class to their allied armies on how to defeat the Russian army with conventional weapons on the battlefield. So Ukraine’s accession to NATO strengthens its position on security, but Kyiv can also strengthen the Alliance’s position as a bastion of protection of European values, a guarantee of peace, security and development on all continents.
