“In view of the traffic that will only be drawn from the two new roundabouts Montescudo and SS72 on Statale 16, with a question presented last night in the City Council transformed into motion, recalling what was foreseen in the 70s in the old PRGV and never realized, I proposed the Administration to take action, in concert with the Province, for the rapid construction of a road link connecting the handicraft area of ​​the Primo Maggio Village to the San Marino highway, at the traffic light in via della Gazzella, just 500 meters away, but that today, in order to be reached, they force residents and economic operators to get stuck in traffic, taking even more than half an hour to reach the highway at rush hour, or venture into the inadequate roads of the forese.

This link, to be connected with a roundabout to be built or at the height of Via Giaccaglia or Via Clerici, would also be very useful for increasing safety, as it would prevent the transit at high speeds that is sometimes encountered by some unruly people in that straight section of via Montescudo.

The current traffic situation is the result of territorial planning, with a clearly inadequate road system that has not taken into account the strong urbanization of recent years in the Primo Maggio Village in Gaiofana and in the artisanal area.

The fact that the new roundabout has sacrificed, in accessing the SS 16, the Via Montescudo, the basis of a project planned in the 90s, confirms a serious lack of daily reading, given that the queues previously present from the traffic lights on the Statale until at least to the church, today they have only moved to Via Tirso and Via Coriano.

The new road network also forces those in Via Arno and sideways to travel almost a kilometer more than before to go to the city.

The first weeks of use of the new roundabout showed a too small diameter and too narrow and dangerous accesses or exits (Via Flaminia Conca towards the mountain and exit towards Via Montescudo) which limit the hoped-for fluidization:

for this reason I asked the Administration to sensitize ANAS and the contracting company to provide the necessary accesses and exits to what has not been achieved for optimism, urging its completion which is delaying the promised completion for last September “.
