Scandicci Fair
The most awaited trade fair of the year returns to Scandicci, the Scandicci fair. Also for this year confirmed the funfair in the Turri area and the famous day of the “Fierone” which will take place on 13 October in via Allende. About 300 exhibitors and an exhibition area of over 20 thousand square meters will be present at the 156th edition of the Fair, in an area that stretches from Piazza Resistenza to the De Andrè tram stop.
Florence Books
Second edition for Firenze Libri: the festival dedicated to the promotion of reading which sees independent Florentine bookstores as the protagonist. 50 presentations, including the cartoonist Pera Toons, Massimo Cotto with the Florentine artist Piero Pelù, Premio Strega and Campiello Helena Janeczek, Saverio Tommasi
Middle East now
Middle East Now will be from 4 to 9 October 2022, at the Cinema La Compagnia, at the Cinema Stensen and in other Florentine spaces, with a multifaceted program of events, including cinema, documentaries, art, exhibitions, music, food, meetings and cultural projects. The festival, which has always been characterized by a strong focus on current events, improves the contemporary Middle East: 38 premiered films, awarded at international festivals, for a film journey that will take us to Lebanon, Iran, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.

Most emphatic
Empolissima d’Autunno returns to Empoli. The appointment is set for this Sunday and from morning to evening it will be possible to go shopping not only among the stalls of the great fair but also in the shops (participating in the initiative) which will be open every day on an extraordinary basis.
Olafur Eliasson at Palazzo Strozzi
The exhibition visible at Palazzo Strozzi is the largest ever created in Italy by Olafur Eliassion and allows you to immerse yourself in his artistic world through a wide overview of works from his thirty years of activity, but also through new works designed specifically for Palazzo Strozzi. Often using elementary materials such as light, water and fog, Olafur Eliasson is famous for an art that reflects on the idea of perception and in which the viewer is at the center of the experience as an active protagonist. Siege of the Castle
On Sunday the village of Calenzano Alto goes back in time and will be set up as an ancient fourteenth-century village with a market and numerous stations of ancient medieval arts and crafts. A military camp will be set up in the castle garden with costumed figures and workshops for children: a step back in time. The event recalls the Siege of the Castle, which took place in October 1325, when the troops of the leader Castruccio Castracani tried to conquer the ancient Calenzano village.
Tony Cragg at the Museo Novecento
One of the greatest exponents of contemporary sculptural art, Tony Cragg, is the protagonist of an interesting exhibition hosted in the Museo Novecento and at the Istituto degli Innocenti. The exhibition, named Transfer, presents a selection of sculptures and works on paper by the English master, known above all for having contributed to a renewal of the plastic language thanks to the introduction of new materials and new techniques, among the most experimental and innovative of the our time.
Special Chestnuts from Mugello
In Marradi it is time for chestnuts, that is a variety of chestnuts from the territory, an IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) product of. The festival will be divided into four days during which it will be possible to visit the small but characteristic village of Marradi and buy, and eat, chestnut tortelli, chestnut cake, chestnut cake, chestnut jams, marrons glacés, the “burnt ”(Roasted chestnuts) and obviously also the chestnuts to cook at home. The Brown Festival is back in San Piero a Sieve and this year, the Mugello festival dedicated to the king product of autumn closest to Florence, returns to take place on three Sundays.
Also in Palazzuolo sul Senio there will be a greedy event dedicated to this autumn fruit: everything is ready for the Sagra del Marrone and Frutti del Undergrowth.

The feast of the Gnoccata
“La Gnoccata” is a village festival, during which men and women, adults and children of the village set up the environment, cook, serve at the table and bring a culinary feast to a successful conclusion. You can taste excellent polenta gnocchi and all the local specialties, this tradition has continued since 1970.
