Russia and Post-Russia: Is Disintegration Real?

Sugar Mizzy October 6, 2022

With the start of Putin’s military invasion of Ukraine, votes for secession are growing in Russia and their opportunities are being created. Three forums of the peoples of post-Russia have already been held. The first one was held in May in Warsaw. The second one is at the end of July in Prague. The third is in the Polish city of Gdansk at the end of September. These events have brought together a large number of politicians and activists who are in favor of secession. The forums provoked reactions in the Russian state media, as well as among politicians in this country. The head of the independent Institute of the Regions of Russia, Andrius Almanis, within the framework of the “Inside Out” project, which slows down what is happening in Russia, told what kind of talk about the collapse of Russia, which has a basis.

The full version of the conversation is presented in video format, and only selected abstracts are presented in the text version.

PREREQUISITES FOR SEPARATISM

“It is by no means artificial [процесс]. The Russian Federation itself is actually an artificial entity. And when it is not considered a so-called center with its original status, centrifugal agreements will develop themselves, and the West has nothing to do with it. This natural movement of regions has increased to Russia. Of course, in some regions ideas are primarily national, independence is much stronger, in other regions there may be less [сильнее]. But when conditions appear, that is, the disappearance of the original focus, this is a natural phenomenon. [исходом].”

Andrius Almanis in case of losing Russia in the war against Ukraine. According to him, Russian politicians and propagandists already look confused.

“Wold cases speak of this situation, there are no obvious manifestations, because everything is crushed by a bulldozer. As for the national identity of each region, of course, everyone knows that Tatarstan has a strong identity. [идентичность] while it is pressed. In other regions, like Bashkortostan and other regions of the Volga region, there is also this affiliation. The problem is that some peoples are almost already disappearing. Thank God, this cannot yet be said about the Tatars, not about the Bashkirs.

RADICALIZATION OF THE BASHKIRS

“The invasion of Russia in Ukraine is the first reason, but there are other reasons: the infringement of the Bashkir people, as well as others. People get used to everything, sometimes – unfortunately. It’s hidden, crushed inside.

“MARSHALL PLAN” FOR THE PEOPLES OF RUSSIA

“Educational projects, as we call them, or some kind of courses, it doesn’t matter, the main thing is the educational policy for waiting for leaders, of course, this is an obligatory moment. because of how we will promote the idea, how we will prove that it is obligatory and inevitable. And vice versa, you need to prepare it.

In mid-September, two revisions entered the Russian State Duma, which led to the establishment and comparison of extremism with the distribution and demonstration of maps and images “challenging the territorial territory of Russia.”

The first initiative amends the law “On Countering Extremist Activities”. According to the amendment to extremist materials from obtaining maps, documents and images intended for distribution and a public epidemic, as well as “disputing the territory of the territory of Russia.”

Amendments have been made to the Code on the Settlement of Offenses of the Russian Federation. For the distribution of such cards will face a fine or arrest up to 15 days. According to the committee, fines for legal entities can reach millions of rubles.

In recent years, Russia has been constantly criticized for the pressure of activists who advocate federalism in the Russian Federation, and carried out by the Moscow Assimilation Chamber against representatives of its representatives of peoples and minorities. There are cases of activists appearing at the dismantling of the federal foundations of the state.

The central government has successfully prosecuted, now criminalized, activists who advocate federalism, the rights of the regions and the development of the peoples inhabiting the Russian Federation, criminalizing even political (i.e., within the framework of constitutional rights) speeches. So, in Bashkortostan there were feelings and feelings of an activist Airat Dilmukhametov280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to action aimed at violating the territorial territory of the Russian Federation) statements in the program “Personally Yours”, which aired on the radio station “Echo of Moscow” in Ufa” in May 2018. Ruslan Gabbasov in December 2021 entry into Russia. Now he is in Lithuania, where he was considered a political asylum.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan recognized the national Bashkir organization “Bashkort” as extremist and banned its activities.

“Idel. Realii” reports that the writer and public figure from Tatarstan Fauzia Bayramova repeated in the prosecutor’s office in connection with her statements in defense of the sovereignty of Tatarstan.

Komi activist Nicholas Udoratin summoned to the prosecutor’s office, the reason was the request of the chairman of the “Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation” (AFUN RF) Petra Tultaeva on the implementation of the activities of the commissions of the national movement to the supervisory authority.

On January 12, 2022, the Moscow City Court liquidated the public organization Headquarters of the Tatars of Moscow. The lawsuit was filed by the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

In December last year, the Vakhitovsky District Court found the All-Tatar Public Center guilty under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation – inciting a feeling of hostility, equal humiliation of human dignity. The case of an administrative offense was opened by the Vakhitovsky District Prosecutor’s Office after a rally on the Day of Remembrance of the defenders of Kazan who fell during the capture of the city by the troops of Ivan the Terrible, which took place on October 15, 2021.

In Russia, laws are being adopted at an accelerated pace, which are considered in accordance with the opinions and activists, limiting the powers of the regions and local self-government.

Yes, the law was passed. The scope of control over state bodies in the electoral districts of the Russian Federation“, introduced by legislators – Pavel Krasheninnikov and Andrey Klishas. Already at the discussion stage, the document has been criticized country for its overtly anti-federalist character.
