Nantes fall, Rennes, Monaco and Nice ensure… The French received three out of four
FC Nantes was the only French club to miss its subject, this Thursday in the European Cup.
It will still be necessary to wait before seeing French clubs achieve a clear round during a continental evening. That said, we were not far from a perfect copy on Thursday. Nice and Monaco responded, Rennes followed suit and only Nantes failed to fulfill their task. An evening therefore generally positive and which is doing well at the level of the Uefa index.
Monaco recovers
Monaco is the team that made the best impression. At home, the main team easily defeated Trabzonspor (3-1). Wissam Ben Yedder was the hero of the match with a double scored, while the 3e but was the work of Axel Disasi. With this success, ASM erases its loss of the previous day against Ferencvaros. It sent good qualification for the next tour.
Nice, nice surprise
For Nice too, business is pretty good in the Europa League Conference. Le Gym took the best of Slovacko on the outside thanks to a one and only but signed Nicolas Pépé. With Partizan Belgrade, the Aiglons prance at the head of their group. A successful course and which contrasts with that which they achieve in the championship.
Rennes wins at the finish
Like Nice, Rennes is also undefeated on the European stage. And the Reds and Blacks managed to glean their second success in three matches. After the draw against Fenerbahçe, they got the better of Dynamo Kyiv at home. They had been the first to score thanks to a nice goal from Martin Terrier. The Ukrainians then equalized. We then headed for a parity score with the young Doué (17) offering the victory to the locals. A success on the wire but largely deserved for the band at Genésio.
Nantes remains at a standstill
The bad student of the evening will have been FC Nantes. The Kombouaré team fell apart in Germany against Freiburg (0-2). As in their previous outing, the Canaries were not up to the task. They are now 3e of their hen, three points from the second. It will take a flawless performance during the two remaining outings at La Beaujoire to hope to see the European spring. Antoine Kombouaré would benefit from pulling up a few straps.
