Ixat turns around the taxi and “sacks a horse” in Portugal – Transportes
Tiago Lousada and Elisabete Anjos Oliveira team up to create an Ixat (taxi in reverse), a new platform that aims to revolutionize the Portuguese market and remunerate passengers in uncharacterized vehicles, the so-called TVDE.
“It is a startup and will debut in the month of October with a service of this beginning in our country: the motorcycle-taxi”, announces a statement, in a statement.
Ixat is the “only 100% Portuguese platform, similar and which is also the most economical for the adherent owners”, says Tiago Lousada, former professional, who for FC Porto.
Lousada guarantees that Ixat “is the app that charges the lowest commission on the market, which allows us to increase the profitability of the drivers who serve us and charge less to users”, he maintains.
Hence the app’s “claim”: “Ixat, the tribe that moves, cheaper and more responsible in the city…”.
“It’s simpler, faster and more sustainable”, emphasizes Elisabete Anjos Oliveira, the other co-founder of Ixat, who is a lawyer and is finishing her Master’s in Law and Information Technology at the University of Minho.
“It is the only platform that offers motorcycles with a driver, with the Maxi Scooter and Tourism segments, the majority being 100% electric, our Green Go”, maintains Pedro Marques, an entrepreneur from Aveiro who “from the very beginning believed in the project “, having joined as an investor in this startup, which “has so far had an investment of more than 100 thousand euros.
The idea came to Tiago Lousada in the summer of 2021, “when he triangulated the difficulty of many customers to get a TVDE in the hustle and bustle of large cities with one possible”.
“Questioned the drivers of drivers, who explained why they canceled services”, and, originated the co-founder “filtered the opportunity that created behind the resource that provides both parties”, drivers and users.
Hence, at the start of Ixat, the debut with the motorcycle-taxi and courier service.
“We wanted to enter with a differentiating element, in the innovative market in the country, that would guarantee us a speed of arrival at the destination that many differentiated customers, always no compliance with road safety rules”, reinforce Tiago Lousada and Anjos Oliveira.
Ixat will be in operation “in cities such as Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve region”, and should expand “gradually to all districts” of mainland Portugal.
Furthermore, “by the end of the year, Ixat will enter other niche markets”, promises those responsible for this new mobility platform, which will make its presentation to the press next Friday, 7 October, at the headquarters of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), in Porto.
