This year the event will involve 73 companies and, in the two days scheduled, there will be meetings and days dedicated to various products with buyers from 22 countries.
The initiative is promoted by the Tuscany region and was created to favor supply and demand in particular with the foreign market. The event takes on even greater importance in this historical moment in which there is a risk of a market depression, a cause of the world situation and of the war that penalizes in particular bakery products due to the effects of expensive flours, as well as expensive energy.
Many protagonist products, representing all the Tuscan provinces (Florence, Siena and Grosseto, those that carry the greatest number of typical products): Cinque Dop extra virgin olive oil (Chianti Classico, Lucca, Seggiano, Terre di Siena, Toscano) , I Tuscan Cantuccithere Cinta SeneseFarro della Garfagnana, Finocchiona, Lardo di Colonnata, Marrone del Mugello, Honey from Lunigiana, Mortadella from Pratothe Tuscan Bread, the Panforte of Siena, the Pecorino of the Volterrane Balzethe Roman and Tuscan, the Ricciarelli of Siena, the White Beef from the Central Apennines and the Tuscan Ham. A range of products that truly ranges throughout the Tuscan food and wine tradition.
“This is an essential event for the excellent agri-food of this region – explained Marco Ginanneschi, secretary of Assocantuccini – Many companies already export, the Cantuccini are known all over the world: in 2021 we reached the 50% export share on the turnover with a big increase in the same year (we grew by 55% in Igp turnover). So we hope to consolidate these extraordinary data also for the current year ”.
