The envoy praised Switzerland for hosting the face-to-face meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Fuad Isgandarov thanked the country for hosting a face-to-face meeting between Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers in Geneva on Oct. 2, Azernews reports.
The envoy thanked the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) for its outstanding commitment and professionalism in organizing the meeting and underlined the unique contribution of Swiss State Secretary Livia Leu.
“[I] would like to express my sincere thanks to the Swiss FDFA for the exceptional hospitality and professionalism shown in organizing the first-ever face-to-face meeting between Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers and their delegations to negotiate a peace agreement without outside participation,” Isgandarov said wrote on his Twitter page.
“I was delighted with the good will and activity of the State Secretary of the Swiss FDFA, Mrs. Livia Liu, and Her Excellency’s entire team in taking all the necessary measures in a very short time to initiate the path to peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It shows Switzerland’s readiness for future “peace-making” membership of the UN Security Council,” he said

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan met in Geneva on October 2 to negotiate a draft peace treaty.
The bilateral meeting was organized according to the task assigned to foreign ministers to develop the text of the peace treaty as signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels on August 31 under the auspices of the President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel, had agreed .
